Hawkwell House Hotel Oxford Guest Reviews
Very comfortable beds. There was only one dubious instance. We asked for water with dinner in the hotel resturant. The waiter asked "still or sparkling?" We were brought the requested still water in a bottle. This bottle had a hinged, reusable stopper top. It was not sealed. The bottle was printed with the words "Hawkwell House" My first thought was to ask for a sealed bottle but I did not want to cause any discomfort within our party. The water was tasteless and not chilled. I asked the waiter from where the water came. He answered "we have a source". Perhaps I am doing the returant an injustice, but this had all the warning signals of the tapwater-in-a- bottle trick. As we were charged £3 for this, I was suspicious. The food and service were otherwise good. This was the only off-putting incident in an otherwise pleasant stay.

Breakfast disappointing; bacon solid and obviously cooked much earlier, eggs had no taste.
