When we pulled up in the car the valets were snotty. They had the audacity to correct my wife about what she told them to do. Their tone of voice was completely inappropriate and made comments to one another under their breath. My wife made a complaint about this to the manager who simply said sorry and gave us no resolution. I booked a two bed room and all they had was a king. They did give us a king suite after some complaining but we still did not have two beds. We stayed 3 nights and the second day we did not have maid service. Our TV did not work and after 4 calls to the "ground control" (front desk), who assured me someone would fix it, no one ever came. The only highlight was the two people who handled our bags (one was named Garrison) were really nice. At about 275$ per night I would expect much, much, much more. Frankly I would expect more from a 1 or 2 star hotel than I got here.

Terrible hotel and completely over priced. There is an additional twenty something compulsory fee for Internet, gym and other stuff on top of the three hundred a day. The receptionist is completely useless and we lost our mobilr phone and she said no one handed in to her and when we asked if she was lost and found she was Iike oh.. Terrible service!! DO NOT stay here! They did not even bother responding to my complaints too. Better staying at a better priced hotel elsewhere.

We had a great experience at the Hard Rock. Although, I think a 10 dollar service fee to charge a drink to the room is outrageous. It's a shame that a silly thing like that will discourage me to return to the Hard Rock.

The hotel staff was very friendly & helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. We stayed in the King Suite & it was nice and had plenty of space for two people; however, a microwave would have been a great addition. They do ask what type of music you would like playing in your room, which is a cool bonus, but they don't have a wide variety of selections and the "classic rock" mix is not at all what I would have expected - think less Led Zeppelin, more Lion King. Other than that, it was a great stay.

We were able to score a great rate at this hotel for the holiday season. It has a wonderful location in the Gas Lamp area with many places to see, eat, and relax downtown. Enjoyed our time here, room was quiet and well appointed. Would stay again.

This hotel is really amazing. It is located in a beautiful district called HISTORIC HEART OF SAN DIEGO. It have rock&roll music everywhere. But the music is not cloud, made me comfortable and excited. The room is totally silent. Everything is wonderful in this hotel. They have free gym, spa and wi-fi. Also, they displayed guitars, drums and performing clothes used by famous singers. The bar is also wonderful.

Check in was a bit difficult. Room was not ready and after two hours they forgot to call us and tell us the room was ready. The beds are comfortable, however the footboards are dangerous. Walked into it several times, got bruised. Met someone who was bruised and cut from the footboards. Be careful!

My wife and I came to San Diego to watch an NFL game but wanted to stay in the downtown area. The Hard Rock, is in a great location near public tansit, shopping, and great restaurants. The room sizes are adequate for active individuals enough room to stow luggage, sleep, and use the facilities, however I could see things getting tight with more than two people. The Bars and Restaurants in the hotel are very popular requiring reservations for the Sushi bar and a "VIP pass" to get into the bar which is crowded and the drinks are a tad over-priced but overall nice atmosphere. Honestly one of the better chain Hotel we have stayed at while traveling in the US.

The hotel is right outside the Gaslamp District. Everything was walking distance- no need to drive!. The valet was a little pricey at $35.00, but it was nice that we didn't have to drive. The rooms were very cool looking and the view was nice as well. We loved it!

Great Location. Walk to everything right in the heart of the hospitality district of San Diego. Very pricey. Example: $35 bucks a day to park (park across the street and get it for half) Lobby was cold (temp) & very noisy. Only one L-shaped couch to sit on. Elevators very fast!! Room was very dark. Indirect lighting only. No mirror outside of Bathroom. No prices listed for the "honor" bar. Mandatory, hidden "resort fee" of $17.00 a day. Advice: Nowadays call any hotel before you confirm with On-line discounters. Ask if the hotel will charge you a mandatory resort fee in addition to your on-line payment. (If it is "mandatory" why is it not disclosed on-line??) Hard Rock is a good value only at discounted prices.

Every thing was great. The bed was very comfortable and yes, as other reviews mentioned, the music can be heard on weekends, but it didn't keep us awake. No loud parties on our end of the hotel that we could hear, even with the many Green Bay Packer fans :) The only thing we were dissappointed in was they have a lot of private parties at the pool area during evening hours and being we only had a studio we didn't have a lot of privilege as far as sitting in a hot tub or by the fire pits. Otherwise, it was very enjoyable and walking distance to many places.

So much is within walking distance and the trolley is just across the street. Great location, excellent service and Mary Janes was our favorite place to eat. Would highly recommend this hotel. From the business center we were able to take care of all needed business with computer and printer access.

This was a high tech hotel. If you are looking for night life, this is the place. Good security. Not always accomodating for thier guests. Pool and hot tub was closed off to guests on one of the nicest evenings.

I thought the lobby was absolutely stunning and the service amazing...the club attached to HR, 207, was the best I went to that night (Ivy, Onyx, Double Deuces, Stage) The room was just average to me though. I've stayed in many hotels (that I have payed much less for) that blew HR's room out of the water. The location is good though.

We stayed in the King Suite for my bachelorette party. Room was great! Service was excellent and the employees were all very nice! The only probelm we had is our room was SUPER HOT!! It would only cool off to 72 degrees. We called for a tech (who came promptly and was very pleasent) but even after it was fixed it still did not cool down at all. But, I would still recommend the hotel.
