Hard Rock Hotel Cancun - All Inclusive

I hate to say this but we did not have an amazing experience at Cancun Palace. The last time we were in Mexico we stayed at Moon Palace and while it was absolutely amazing, it is on the bay side so we didn't have the amazing ocean view. We visited Cancun Palace and said that the next time we went to Cancun we would stay there. I will say that some of the issues probably could not have been avoided due to construction going on in the lobby. They are switching to a Hard Rock Theme, which personally does not appeal to me. The staff for the most part, while courteous was not overly attentive. This is a time share hotel and they push really hard to get you to meet with one of their reps. Unfortunately, we did and I am very sorry that I did.. it was not a pleasant experience. One of the "gifts" I received for sitting through 90 mins of torture was a spa credit. My daughter and I scheduled a mani/pedi and was looking forward to being pampered a bit. Unfortunately, it was not a "spa" experience. I might as well gone to my local nail salon. Our experience was not horrible but it certainly wasn't the amazing resort we had hoped for.

Good hotel to spend with your family. The sea is a little bit rough. Good food and restaurtants. Great minibar. Great rooms. To redeem your hotel credit is too slow

We had visited Vallarta palace last year, and were very impressed with the quality of the food, and the service there. Cancun Palace did not live up to the expectations. They gave us rooms with construction room and were rude when we wanted to upgrade. The vacation planners were terrible and not helpful at all. We could not use up all the points (600 points of 1500 were unused). We had to pay for many of the trips. The mexican restaurant need s to be jazzed up a lot more. Food was mediocre at best. Loved the swim-up bar and excellent bar-tenders!!! The shows were great.

We stayed at Cancun Palace from Dec 19th till Dec 24th. Main reason we selected this hotel was that it was all-inclusive plus we were getting $1500 worth points to be used for various activities. First the good part. The room was good and was spacious. The view from our room was lagoon facing (though couple of our friends got construction facing rooms which were later changed to lagoon facing on request). Also, mostly the staff in the restaurants was good. Now the bad part. Hotel in general: Noticed water dripping from roof at two different places. Overall, it did not give a sense of a quality hotel. Food: Nothing to rave about. It wasn't of very good quality. The Free Internet: The network is so bad and slow, for all practical purposes you won't be able to use if for much. Housekeeping: On two occasions, I found my room not made after I came back to hotel in the late evening. I had to call them to get the room cleaned. Gift Shop on 3rd Floor: Double check the price with more then one sales person or better have them scanned to see the correct price. For an item I was quoted a certain price by one of the sales person. It did seem a little higher to me so I asked if there is any discount on it. She rudely mentioned that it is available at the price she quoted. Since I wanted to buy that item I gave it to the other sales person who was manning the cash resister. When that item was scanned, the price came 40% less then what I was quoted. The $1500 Resort Credit: This is where I have most of my complains. The hotel staff person who "explained" us about various options on our arrival did not do a good job. He did not mention the restrictions or the limitations of the resort credit offer (and for that matter the hotel website does not mention about it either). Also, he did not state all the different ways and possibilities of using the $1500 resort credit. To avail of any resort credit you need to go to a vacation planner or a resort credit service table, available on the 3rd floor, between 7AM and 7PM. We ended up waiting close to 45 minutes in the line waiting in front of a table waiting for our turn. And to make things worst, most of the time their computer system is down. When it is working it is very slow. I do not understand why the hotel does not open more tables and improve their computer system so that the customers who are on vacation do not spend so much of their time standing in lines to plan their vacation. Well, after having spent 45 minutes in the line, all I was able to do was book a tour to Chichen Itza. I was told that for Spa and "Swimming with Dolphins" I need to go to another table. Why couldn't they clearly indicate it there? I then rushed to the other table. On that table I was able to book my Spa appointment (lucky me) and then their system went down again while trying to reserve the Dolphin swim. When finally the system came up I was told that the "Swim with Dolphin" event is no longer avaialble for the duration of my stay. Looks like they have a very limited availability of this activity. I ended up booking admission to "Wet and Wild" minus the dolphin swim. By that time I had spent almost half of my day just trying to book various activities and tours against the resort credit. Next day I came to know that I could use my resort credit for limo services and golf practice lessons also. Again I stood in the line in front of a planner's table, for at least half an hour, waiting for my turn. I was told that I can not book a limo for the same day. As far as golf lesson is conecerned, it can only be booked before 5PM (now why won't they clearly mention it somewhere)! Since it was already past 5PM, he asked me to come the next day but then added if I book the golf lesson next day for the same day I won't get any transportation to the golf course. I finally gave up on using my rest of the resort credit points (I used only a little above half of $1500 points). Frankly, I do not think they want you to use the

Initially the room we got had a bad view / surroundings. We got it changed to a better one with some persuading to the front desk, and after using some resort-points. Using resort-points was very hard. The computer system crawled, whimpered and crashed! It took literally an hour to get simple voucher issued.

The hotel itself was nice, not the best resort in Cancun that I have been to. I had booked a "lagoon" view and paid extra for the up charge, and the view was terrible. I asked to move to an ocean front view and was told that there were no more rooms available which was not accurate - the resort was basically empty. There were not enough restaurants to pick from and when it states there are 2 breakfast buffets, that is a lie because there is only one place (with two seating areas). I would not go back.

The hotel is going thru under construction. During the 6 day stay at the hotel, the noise was coming from everywhere and that was unbearable. And most of all this was never mentioned while i was booking. If this was mentioned, there's no way that I booked this hotel. No one wants to spend their vacation with loud banging every day. The food was horrible. All the ingredients used were very cheap. Fruits were provided during the morning only. It was hard to find fresh fruits and vegetable at the buffet. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

I had a great experience at the Cancun Palace, rooms are huge and comfortable, very clean and well decorated, nice spacious jacuzzi inside the room, restaurants and food are very nice and most of the staff is efficient and friendly,, however had a bad experience at the Steak House Restaurant in the evening as the waiter was very rude,,although we had the opposite experience at the Japanese Restaurant (staff absolutely friendly & nice), check in/out also very busy and had to wait a while in the line to be able to check out. But overall is an excellent property and would recommend.

This is a great hotel, upscale, the food was good and really nice in general. The staff needs to be a little bit more involved with their guest, specially the front desk staff.

I stayed at this hotel with my best friend and we both enjoyed our experience staying at this hotel.. I've stayed at other higher end hotels before and this one has a better value. reason for not giving it 5 stars is because the staff at the vacation planning desks could be a little bit more aprochable and informative

Great shows at night, we wish they would have every night. Nice all inclusive program, we like unlimitted phone calls from the room to USA Wet and Wild swim with dolphins was fantastic !!!! Chitchen-Itza trip was not great, the trip was 11 hours and we were there 2 1/2 hours, lunch was not good and we weren't interested to buy souvenirs at the village The guide was not knowledgeble. It smelled bad and too many vendors at the archeological site. IT IS TOO SAD !!!
