Hampton Inn & Suites Sacramento Guest Reviews
We stayed at the Hampton Inn for two nights while in Sacramento to help friends move during a heat wave. We knew it would be hot weather, we knew we would be achy tired and sweaty and we were looking for somewhere to crash and rejuvenate. The air conditioning was welcome and quite effective, keeping the room blissfully cool overnight, however it was a bit noisy and woke me up 2 or 3 times. We spent extra for the whirlpool bath. It was nice, it was sparkling clean, but there we no jets at the head end of the tub to soothe sore back muscles and it was nothing more than a bathtub with jets for legs and feet. Slightly disappointing but still quite nice to have had. The included breakfast was a real time saver, although having only one waffle maker slowed down the process if you really wanted waffles. All in all, it was adequate breakfast, but just barely. Nonetheless, we were grateful for it. The room was a semi-suite. There was a walled off sitting area that was separate from but not isolated from the sleeping area. The couch served as a hide-a-bed. Hopefully it functions better as a bed than it does as a couch because as a couch it was dismal. We ended up placing other pillows on it and then sitting down in order to avoid sinking into the bowels of the mechanism. There were two CRT televisions, one set up for gaming, but we weren't interested in gaming or tEEvEE. We did desire music, however, and like most hotels, this was sorely lacking. Of course we could use our iPods etc, however this causes us to isolate from each other. The only source of music turned out to be the extremely cheap alarm clock/radio which managed to squeak out a few staticky musical chirps. In the past, at other hotels, the hotel tEEvEE channel often plays easy listening music which we have enjoyed as we relax after our day. This hotel channel had nothing but advertising jibber jabber. We like Hampton Inns and have stayed at several of them. This one wasn't particularly bad, its just that this room seemed to over reach and offer more than it could live up to. A better ability for music in the room, a REAL whirlpool bath, get rid of the lousy hide-a-bed love seat and replace it with a genuinely comfortable couch and I would have happily given them 5 stars. As it is, they over reached only to fall short and that reduced the experience to a very ordinary stay. I will still use Hampton Inns, but I have learned from this particular experience to be more wary of them.

We always choose this hotel when we visit family in the Sacramento area because of the value for the price and the very helpful staff.
