Hampton Inn San Antonio Downtown River Walk Guest Reviews
We've stayed here once before and totally loved it. Staff is super friendly, rooms are clean, and it's located about a block from the Rivercenter mall.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE HAMPTON AND ALL THEY HAD TO OFFER DURING OUR STAY THRU THANKSGIVING. THE BREAKFAST MEAL PROVIDED WAS ABLE TO PLEASE ANY BREAKFAST YOU WOULD LIKE AND A PREFECT START TO OUR LONG DAYS SPENT IN SAN ANTONIO. THE THANKSGIVING MEAL THEY PROVIDE WAS AS GOOD A HOME COOKED MEAL. THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL. THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THE "ONLY" INCONVENIENCE WAS THERE IS NO EXHAUST FAN IN THE BATHROOM. THE LOCATION TO RIVERWALK AND DOWNTOWN SAN ANTONIO WAS A LITTLE BIT OF A WALK BUT WORTH IT. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS AND WILL RETURN OURSELVES.

The hotel was in a great location (near The Alamo, Riverwalk and the Alamodome). Good hot breakfast with adequate breakfast eating area. The rooms were average in size. Bathroom was looking worn and the tub faucet was drippy. Biggest problem was the noise from a school group that was on the floor. Had to call the front desk to get things to quiet down. Be prepared if traveling during the school year: schools like this hotel!

I'm an Honor's member and always stay at the Hampton or another Hilton property. I've remained loyal to Hampton as my stays have usually been top notch for the price, without any reasons to complain. All in all, everything was okay with some disappointments: 1.The tub was disgusting. It looked old and beyond needing to be replaced. It was discolored and had a nasty, gritty texture to the bottom. 2. The room was stuffy and the a/c unit worked poorly. My wife and I both had problems breathing. I don't know if the A/C filter simply hadn't been changed or the room fabrics/carpet were in need of a thorough cleaning. 3. There was no safe for our valuables 4. The walls were so thin we could hear the people next door having a casual conversation as if they were in our room with us. Other than, just adequate. When you come to expect a certain measure of excellence, 1 bad experience often stands out. I'll give them another chance or two to redeem their reputation before I consider taking my business elsewhere.

We stayed 3 nights with our son on leave from Fort Hood. Great location, close to The Riverwalk, Alamo, and right off the highway. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again!!
