My wife & I can most warmly recommend this hotel. We spent 2 nights there. The room (good size) was spotlessly clean & very well equipped, incl. excellent bathroom. The buffet breakfast (6 - 10 am) provided a very wide and excellent selection. The staff at reception were most helpful, printing off directions for us to reach East Mersea on Mersey Island. The car park is large, and once one knows the hotel is about one & half miles east of Braintree on the main road towards Stanstead Airport, it is easy to find. Free newspaper (Independent) available in reception & breakfast room.

very reasonable for the price paid. very comfortable beds, excellent shower, a bit chaotic at breakfast but to be fair the hotel was full with wedding guests.
