We spend time there twice in 7 days. Fantastic location and service. Try a room overlooking the river. DO eat at their restaurant. I normaly hate hotel restaurants, but here is one which should be appreciated.

Fantastic location, in the heart of town. Staff very helpful, knowledgeble, perfect command of English. Rooms are fantastic (ask for canal view). Mezanine rooms are bigger but lack the nice varandah of other floors. Don't forget to dine at least once in the hotel restaurant. Food is good, price is right and the beauty of the restaurant is a must see. On the reception desk, Ms. Pavan Singh is a great asset for the hotel - always available, always with a smile

I spent four nights in Amsterdam at this hotel. It couldn't have been better situated to visit most of the attractions and right opposite the bus stop to the airport! Relaxing atmosphere in a period building which must hold the most interesting restaurant in the City. Wonderful place to have lunch or an evening meal outside watching the fountain and people going by. Staff helpful, kind and have good customer service skills. My room at the side of the hotel was spaceous, clean and comfortable although I did struggle to get the air conditioning to work. As my flight back to England was later in the day I was offered the use of a room to shower and change for the onward journey at no extra charge. I would certainly recommend the hotel to others and would stay there again on my return to Amsterdam.

Good Hotel centally located. Lovely resturant decor, food good but service a bit slow. Overall a comfortable stay at a good price, would stay again as the hotel location is the best in Amsterdam.

My wife and I had a great stay at this hotel. It's location is central to all of the things a tourist would want to see. There are cafes, shops, coffee shops, a mall, The Van Gogh museum and Rijks museum just a short walk away. A ten minute ride on the trolly will get you to Central Station in the city center. This will be where I stay the next time I visit Amsterdam.

Beautiful old hotel. Very central, tram across the road, canal boats outside. Close to everything. large room, will stay again. Did not have breakfast but room looks impressive.

This hotel has pluses and minuses. The biggest plus is the location on Liedesplain. The frequent buses (370 and 197) from Schipol stop outside. Liedesplain is, perhaps, the most vibrant and lively part of Amsterdam with bars, street art and restaurants. It is the intersection of bus and tram routes giving access to the rest of Amsterdam. The major museums, tourist attractions, the town centre, Jordaan and de Pijp are nearby. Clearly the minus in this case is the noise at night. The hotel front desk staff were pleasant and our room was good, well furnished and clean. A big minus was the service in the restaurant was very slow and idiosyncratic. The food, given the hotel standard, just ordinary and pricey. However the 1900/art deco room was worth a visit on its own. The biggest minus given the high room price and hotel star rating, was that breakfast was not included (20 Euros extra) and this really rankled.

Had a very pleasant stay at Eden American Amsterdam. Staff were always friendly and offer good advice about the city. The bar is cosy yet vibrant, and spent a lot of time trying to identify the pictures of the celebs on the walls. The restaurant served delicious food. Location is perfect!

This was a wonderful break away with friends who enjoyed the hotel also. The only down side for us was sharing with our 15 year old son (to cut costs) but we had a lovely large room and lovely view of the canal. Great location and would certainly return here.

The Cafe is an excellent place to start the day. A large high ceilinged room with loads of atmosphere. Sunday from 12.30 the jazz brunch is well worth booking in advance for.

Very nice and helpful staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very clean. Room a little on the small side but we did have a balcony. We were given a choice of room also. A little far from Dam square but the trams are brilliant and cheap, so you can get to anywhere you need.
