Good price and service from the staff. However breakfast was very averge. Not even a toaster for bread. We were on third floor (no lift which was fine for us but maybe not others). Room extremely noisy. Could here all the rooms around us. As in above, below and next door. I was awoken by someone else having a shower. The door to the room has a massive glassed area at the top and the light from the hallway is on all night shining directly into the room. Location was good. Short walk to everywhere. Used the hotel tailor who is accross the road to fix some shorts that had bust a seam. Cost about $1 so that was great. Used others tailors tho. (mr xe for mens clothes which were amazing). Wouldn't stay here again.

We were generally pleased with our stay at Hai Au Hotel. Our 'superior' room was quite spacious and comfortable, and mostly well-equipped. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low, and the in-room computer was nigh upon unusable...but these were just minor quirks in an otherwise fine experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and always made sure to greet us enthusiastically by name...perhaps more than was really necessary, honestly, but it was a nice sentiment. At first I worried there would be high-pressure sales of tours booked through them or tailoring from their associated shop, but they made no further mention when we didn't express interest. (We did book a bus ticket and a My Son tour through them.) The included breakfast was sufficient to stave off death for another few hours, but not much more than that. All in all, it was reasonable value for the money, and we'd consider returning.

15-20 mins walk from interesting parts of town. Front-desk service friendly to the point of annoyance, with ones name called out at the top of their voice on every appearance. (Been reading the first chapter of "How to Win Friends and Influence People"?!) Room attractive, with towels made into swans, rose-petals scattered on the bed and a bunch of flowers on arrival - which, however, disappeared the next morning! Beds rock-hard. Breakfast choices poor; the one stir-friend noodle lunch we had there was dreadful. Would not return (though loved Hoi An)
