We were forced to go to another hotel (silver oats) near this one. And it turns out it's not very good at all. Very dirty room and toilet. I don't think we will go for this one again even though we go to Rotorua.

when I arrived i was transferred to the silver oaks motel next door because Gwndoline was full. The TV Iin my room did not work because it needed a cable, which was provided when I complained. I then found that the front door of the room could not be closed from the inside. I was then transferred to another room which did not have a spa, as I was promised when I booked . Altogether, a very unsatisfactory performance

This poor old motor inn would have been good in its day but it is well overdue for a major renovation. Half the light bulbs didn't work, the toilet was just about falling off the wall and there was no electric blanket on the upstairs beds but the heater did a good job to keep the place warm. The room was made up each day and fresh towels were supplied so that was a bonus

Loved the use of the spa! Rooms functional and clean. Location is good; right on Fenton. Good value for money for a fuss free vacation. Could do with a freshening up of Decor.

I felt this motel was value for the money we paid (it was the cheapest we could find) and all we were after was a clean comfortable bed which this provided. Certainly the decor is tired and could do with new window sills and curtains and the TV reception fuzzy but I think we got what we paid for. Breakfast down the road at a partner motel was very basic. The hot tub was good for a soak even though the spa jet bubbles didn't work. All in all, the faults wouldn't stop me staying again for business accomodation needs.

The 1 bedroom units are a good size for a family, rooms (3 & 4) had a double downstairs and twin upstairs. But they are close to the road which was noisy on a week day morning. While the rooms were a good size, they are dated, rundown and not of a 4 star standard. The shower/toilet area in particular needed a really good clean. The free WiFI was unavailable on our two pre-booked stays that were a week apart. Although, the staff were helpful and friendly. I think you could get a better room, located closer to town (with WIFI) for a comparable price.

On arrival the owner/manager was not on site and couldnt be contacted, 30 min later we were in. The spa pool was dirty with things floating in it, broken wall panels and stained carpet, the room was cleaned everyday to a good standard. Internet was down and breakfast at the sister hotel down the road , however again the owner/manager had to be chased up to get our breakfast coupons

While the room had the expected features and the staff were thorough in their cleaning nothing can make up for the fact that this mature facility has become quite shabby. There was evidence that some recent maintenance had been carried out but a lot of the paintwork was still worn/damaged, Torn wallpaper had not been repaired and painting over bubbled wallpaper is not a good look. If you have breakfast included then be aware that it is about 100m away at an adjacent property - not so clever if it is raining!

I had stayed at this motel a couple of years ago so I thought I would return after a previous good experience, how I was disappointed as the place has gone backwards, when I arrived the unmown grass and the damaged motel sign at the front was definitely an omen. The external appearance of the the motel has declined significantly as well as the rooms which look like they have not had any maintenance since my last stay two years ago. Peeling wallpaper, broken tiles, a leaking shower, threadbare carpets and ant infestations were just some of the problems. The service was still good at the front office but the place has gone backwards. Certainly not a four star motel and wouldnt stay there again. Breakfast at a nearby motel as offered was good though.

The front of house staff were good. The rooms were very tired, and breakfast had to be taken at another motel down the road. Not good when it's raining!

Nice and quiet place to stay in Rotorua away from the crowded centre. Standard, nothing too luxurious but clean and comfortable / affordable for a whole family.

Good motel for the price even though slightly rundown and in need of refurbishment. Well located. Friendly service. Breakfast at a sister motel 100 metres down the road.

A very nice motel. Good size, big enough for a family. Located quite a way from the centre of Rotorua, however no problem if you have a car! The service was good. Only complaint is the breakfast was very ordinary (located at another motel 50m down the road).

Staff were helpfull and friendly. Studio Spa we stayed in was a nice set-up but a little worn and tired and would benifit a tidy up by a good trades person rather than what looked like handyman work to keep things going. I would stay again but only at discounted rates.

We enjoyed staying in this hotel especially the spa pool. The only problem was the parking space which was very tight especially with a large van in the next unit.

The man at the office desk was happy and helpful. The accomodation was very tired yet comfortable enough for people on a price budget. However, when you realise that you only need pay a little extra to get a special deal on a higher end hotel room, it shines a poorer light on Gwendoline Court. It was very unpleasant to find a pubic hair in my son's bed and the spa bath hadn't been cleaned.
