Olympia Climate
Olympia features a Mediterranean climate with mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers with temperatures that can exceed 40°C. As for winters, temperatures tend to drop to -10°C, and snow is possible during the months of November through March. The interior mountainous areas are much colder and offer skiing opportunities.
Getting There & Around
Many visitors will fly into the Athens International Airport when travelling to Olympia. From the airport, it is most convenient to hire a car and travel to Olympia. There are also trains that lead from Athens to Pyrgos, where visitors will then take a bus or train to the area.
Upon arriving, tourists can either drive themselves or take a train, bus or taxi to explore the area and the surrounding countryside.
