The Grand Mercure Zhongya did not disappoint! I checked out comments of previous hotel guests and the positive points were all true! Clean, well appointed rooms with soft pillows and a comfortable bed, and the amenities you look for in a four star hotel were all there! My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Grand Mercure!

good location, next to train station and subway station, easy to get around. The Chinese restaurant is quite good too and not too expensive.

This was a great find in Zhabei. Very central and 20ft from the subway entrance. Entrance to hotel is a bit hard to find since it is located in a large laneway. The finishings and decor were really nice. Great lobby bar. Hotel has a very nice spa/gym. Service by the attendants was really good. They give you a towel and bottle of water when you work out. There is also a club attached to this hotel, which I didn't get a chance to check out since it wasn't opened yet. But by the looks of it, it seems to be well designed from the outside. I would definitely stay here again.

Modern design, very new, centrally located, high speed internet, nice shower. But have to be careful with your belonging around the hotel area as it is close to the train station.
