Loved it. Classy but relaxed. Located right on top of the amazing Grand Central Train Station. Do the audio tour to learn about the history of the station and get the most out of your stay. Walking distance to Times Square and other main attractons without the hassle of noise and crowds.

This hotel has a sleek, sterile, impersonal reception area. We had booked a room for 3 adults and got 1 king bed. A roll out single bed was brought in. The room was dusty, and not cleaned properly for the entire 7 nights we were there. The beds made and fresh, thin towels were as good as it got! On check out, we were told that no money was owing. What a shock when the credit card statement arrived and we found that we had been charged for the room again, after fully paying for it previously. A phone call to New York, at international rates, and international transaction fees with my bank puts us out of pocket for their mistake! Not a happy ending to our trip, as New York is a fabulous destination for a week.

On the positive side we liked the location and style of the hotel. Modern slick feeling about the entire hotel. Check- in was efficient and friendly and the newly refurbished rooms on the upper floors were well appointed and quiet. However, we encountered numerous problems. The room floor was filthy dirty and it took 4 calls and a visit from the general manager to get it sorted out and a credit offered to our account for the inconvenience. The hotel bar was so quiet it lacked any atmosphere and the bar staff looked totally uninterested. The hotel attempted to charged an eye-watering 16 dollars per day for WIFI, and they charge an outrageous 2 dollars per bag for storing bages between. Heck out and departure. The room service food and food in the lobby grab and go is higher than I have ever experienced in a hotel in recent years. The hotel I think is just too big, is badly managed and attempts to fleece you for every dollar at every opportunity. I have stayed at about a dozen hotels in NYC and this is definitely the poorest experience I have had so would certainly not recommend it to any prospective guest.

The location is very good. It's ony few blocks to times square, and it's not far to uptown and soho as well. Most importantly, it next to subway station (Grand Central Station).

The Grand Hyatt in NY is the best hotel ever!! This was my second visit to this hotel and everything was perfect. The staff was very helpful with anything we needed. The rooms and location are awesome!! I will definitely stay here again!

Good value for the location. The staff were, for the most part, friendly and helpful. The room was clean but the bathroom had a stale odor and the bathroom fixtures are aging.

The renovation of this hotel is looking good. If you dont mind a front lobby that is makeshift while constrution is going on, this is your hotel. No dust or any loud noise while we were there, but the price for the room quality is unbeatable for NYC. Close to shopping/Time Square without having to deal with the crouds. only complaint no robes in the room.

Overall, we were disappointed with our stay at the Grand Hyatt. My husband had stayed here several years before and enjoyed his stay, so we decided to try it again. Unfortunately, we will definitely not be staying there again. Our stay just started out on the wrong foot with our TV not working. It took the staff a considerable amount of time to get it working. Then, several electrical outlets weren't working, and that took time to repair. One morning, we ordered room service breakfast, and our order arrived incorrectly. They did replace the meal, but we had to eat our breakfast in bed at separate times. Finally, on our last night, we were getting ready for a dinner reservation, and the power in the entire room went out. We called to have it fixed, but it was not fixed in time for us to get ready like we would have liked. My husband was unable to finish ironing his pants, and I had to finish my make-up in the cab. Despite our numerous problems and calls to the front desk, we were not offered any consolations for the problems we encountered during our stay.

The new upgraded room was nice until I walked into the bathroom. No space for toiletries by the sink. The toilet is wedge between the sink and the shower in a most uncomfortable way and the roll of toilet paper is placed where there is no way of reaching it without standing up first. Also, people were complaining about a 45 minute wait to check in - I got through right away but I've seen the lines. Anyway, whoever designed their redesigned rooms should be forced to live in them. For $400-500 a night, you can do much better.

i loved everything about the hotel with the exception of the soap and hair products. I usually just use the soap for washing hands, but it had such a nasty odor that I threw them out. Also, a little noisy if you get a room with windows at the front of the hotel.

thr hotel is on remodelation, so is right to be as it is now. The room cleanliness is defficient, the bath tub we had to clean it before using it. they forgot to put toilet paper and we had to call twice. This is really different, Hyatt was always a very clean and nice place to stay.

My girlfriends and I went to New York for my bachelorette weekend. It really was a fantastic stay! No problems checking in, the staff was very friendly and the rooms immaculate. The only problem I encountered was that there was a charge of over $1,000 to my credit card the following week after checking out. I'm not sure why I was charged and I was credited but that's about the only complaint I have about my stay.

Terrible experience!!! One pretty expensive blouse was stolen from our room. It was on a laundry bag and someone looked inside it and took it. The staff couldn't care less about it and made nothing to resolve the incident. Also, the water heater broke down and when it was fixed, it came back like chocolate. The staff didn't make the guests aware of this situation and many of us took a shower under this condition.
