Grand Hyatt Atlanta In Buckhead Guest Reviews
This was the single worst customer service experience of my life. We booked a room in this hotel while visiting my Mom over Thanksgiving. I borrowed her car while in town and drove to the hotel to check in. At arrival, we were greeted by a valet who took our car and handed us a receipt. The next day I noticed that the receipt stated that there was a charge overnight parking, which the valet had not mentioned when he took our keys. I decided to let our Mom drop us off the next day to avoid the parking fee (whatever it was) and discuss the matter with the front desk at checkout. At checkout, we were presented with a $60 bill for two nights of parking (although we had only parked there one night). I told the clerk to remove the charges for both nights because no one had informed us that there was a charge for parking. The clerk after consulting with both the hotel and parking managers agreed to remove the 2nd night charge, but stunningly refused to remove the 1st night charge. Hyatt’s conduct is deplorable. First, it misleads its guests into thinking that parking is free, does not disclose the parking fees, and does not offer any alternatives at check in. It would have been simple for the valet to state “Would you like me to valet your car, the cost is $30 per night, or you may . . . “ And second, an established (and I once thought, reputable) hotel like Hyatt should in the interest of its reputation and customer satisfaction should always reverse a charge where the guest was not informed of the charge in advance. This was an opportunity for Hyatt to provide great customer service and win repeat and referral business, but instead it left a guest with a bad taste in his mouth over a measly $30 (which it probably would made back had we not decided to skip breakfast there on our way out following this episode) This appears to be Hyatt’s new way of making money. Everything from the bottled water to the internet is an extra charge. I’m surprised they don’t charge each time you flush the toilet. We would have been better off staying at the Holiday Inn where the room was not only 25% less, but the parking and internet is free.

We were only in Atlanta over night and did not have time to see the entire hotel.

This hotel is in a perfect location to all shopping and restaurants in Buckhead. The staff is very helpful and polite. They provide a shuttle service to shopping and restaurants. You can get a cab to major attractions for about 50.00 round trip. We will definately stay again on our next visit to Atlanta. We upgraded to corner room which was bigger and we had nice view of city.
