Grand Hotel Rica Guest Reviews
A grand-old style-hotel (1880s flavour), very pleasant and bang in the middle of town close to the metro (which you can occasionally hear briefly rumbling in the depths). Staff is very friendly and helpful the breakfast excellent with a distinct Scandiniavian touch (e.g. orange raspberry-looking fruit called cloud-berry).

A beautiful grand old hotel right in the centre of the city, the perfect location for everything! Staff were well informed, polite, helpful and friendly. Rooms were a good size, with all amenities, including wireless internet in the rooms and a bathtub in the bathroom. Very good value for money. Minibar was slightly pricey, but much less than other 5-star hotels, and considering the price of drinks in Scandinavia, was fair enough. Beautiful decor and paintings round the old building, and the Skylight bar was nice for an evening, and overall it was a very pleasant stay. Tea and coffee in the rooms would have been a nice extra but that is only a minor thing, it's not like there is a lack of coffee houses near the hotel. Breakfast buffet was superb, and on Sunday was moved to a larger room to accommodate all the selections. I have stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels, but this one I would recommend and would use again.

Hotel is beautiful downstairs but rooms very tired and need renovation. Air conditioning doesn't work, which makes life uncomfortable. Grand Cafe is excellent.

Old and nice hotel in the very center of Oslo with walking distance to "Slottet" (the King´s residence) and "Stortinget" (the Parliament).
