Clearly this hotel aspires to be great, but it consistently falls short. The decorations in the rooms are bland, the floor plans are inefficient and bland, and the little touches that make a hotel are missed. A five star hotel, like the Rex, watches every detail from having filtered bathwater to nightly turn-down service to high thread count sheets to room decorations that are subtle and classy. The Grand hotel consistently misses the mark. Compared to other hotels at the same price, it offers less overall.

It is good that it has free wi-fi in the rooms. The deluxe executive room we stayed in was clean and nice. I was only expecting a room but I was pleasantly surprised when it also has a sala. However, I find the hotel lobby decor a bit tacky, there are still many christmas lights outside. ALso, the hot water is very hot. If a guest turns it on, in a few seconds the temperature turns to boiling point. My husband and I got burnt a few times.

Great hotel in a great location. Stayed in old wing (refurbished) with beautiful polished wooden floors and period furniture. Exceptional service, very clean, good value in the restaurants, great pool. Would stay there agian without hesitation.

Huge suite with 3 spacious rooms and 2 baths, difficult to adjust the A/C but otherwise very nice. The entire family liked it a lot!
