Grand Hotel Dore Paris Guest Reviews
We stayed for a week at Hotel Dore in September 2011. We read a lot of reviews about this hotel and settled on this one. Sure enough, we had smallish room with a smallish bathroom but with a really great shower. We have been in smaller rooms and elevators in Europe. We slept well on the one bed in a quiet, corner room on the 5th level. (Hint: Larger sized persons might find the hotel rooms too small.) Plenty of places to eat nearby, including a Subway and a Big Mac,not too far. Most importantly, the metro station (Daumesnil) is right next to the hotel, so after loading up with a "continental" breakfast in the hotel, we were off each day to explore the city with a "carnet" of tickets in hand. Overall, the quiet hotel was perfect for us, made even more terrific by the receptionists all of whom were able to converse with us in English and were unstinting in their efforts to help us with maps, directions, places to visit etc. Kudos to Geraldine and Claire for their assistance in making our stay most pleasurable.

Just stayed 11 nights at this hotel, and found it to be an outstanding value. Our room, 536, was exceptionally clean, and everything in the room worked, with the efficient design mitigating the room's compactness. While the location wasn't exactly central, the metro stop, Dausmenil, was literally steps from the front door and its two useful line connections (6 and 8) helped get us everywhere we wanted to go. Very pleasant desk staff and a substantial breakfast added to the comfort/convenience level. After a long day of traveling about town in very chilly temperatures, the hotel was always a pleasure to return to. Strongly recommended.

Really clean and quiet room. Great little restaurants close by and metro at door step. great place to stay, not directly central but easy to get around from there. would stay there again.

The room was very clean. The size was typical of Paris hotels, so pack light! The staff spoke English and was very helpful. We own our own business and when we travel having Internet access is a must, so the free wifi was a big plus. Bring your own shampoo as none is provided. Also, the pillows were not very comfortable, we had to ask for extras. There is a bakery just outside of the hotel and loylts of other places to shop and eat. The hotel offers a breakfast buffet for 10 euro, but we opted for something else. There is also a grocery market around the corner. We stayed for 7 days and overall our stay was very good. I would recommend this hotel.

Charming, peaceful and comfortable establishment. Friendly and efficient service. A little far out of town, but only two stops from the all important Metro line 1. The Felix Cafe around the corner was an added plus.
