Very well located, just a short walk from the train station. Quirky design with the most comfortable beds ever. Overall an excellent hotel

Convenient across the road from the new Doubletree Hilton just on the right of Central station. We were early and the lady concierge was absolutely charming taking care of our luggage and our coat and reminding us how cold it was (11th jan) and if we really wanted to leave our coat with her. Attentive and joyful are the best words to describe this delighful young lady. I misplaced her name card else would have written a personal thank you to her. In the evening when we asked for a recommendation of Dutch restaurant the male concierge too was equally enthusiastic and helpful. Grand Amrath, a salute to your brilliant concierge team and your reception team too! Reception staff were all helpful and friendly. It would have been even nicer to have been offered a welcome drink as it was really cold and very tiring after a long train right. Reception sent someone quickly when we were unable to set our safe as the instructions did not mention it needed a 6 digit code. Our room on the ground floor was quiet and we felt safe even though it faced the main road. Room was large and cosy and we slept so well on that mattress and pillows. Wifi in room was fast and free, and there was also free minibar. We don't drink alcohol but it seemed to have a good range of mini alcohol bottles and soft drinks. The choc and peanuts were good. Apart from having to boil and throw out the water a number of times to wash out the coffee machine, I had two excellent cups of coffee during our one night stay. For those with luggage, just note there's a slight flight of steps from street to lobby. Easier to enter by side door on left next to revolving door after you climb the steps. Definitely would love to come back and stay in this hotel again.

We went to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff were more than helpful, the wellness center was so relaxing. The bedroom had everything you could need and the most comfy bed, and a huge bath and shower. We would love to go back.

I stayed at this hotel with my family. It was a short trip to celebrate my retirement. The hotel was excellent and extraordinary value for the price which we paid. It is on the north side of the old town and shopping centre and very conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the central Station. The hotel pool and wellness centre was one of the best which I have experienced in a city-centre hotel. The pool is short but swimmable and the sauna and hammam were very agreeable. We ate the continental breakfast in the hotel bar - very copious and excellent value for 13 euros. We also rented bikes from the hotel to tour the town - a great way to see Amsterdam and good value at 15 euros per day The free minibar was a temptation we did our best to resist, but a g&t after a day cycling is a great way to start the evening.
