Very well located, just a short walk from the train station. Quirky design with the most comfortable beds ever. Overall an excellent hotel

Convenient across the road from the new Doubletree Hilton just on the right of Central station. We were early and the lady concierge was absolutely charming taking care of our luggage and our coat and reminding us how cold it was (11th jan) and if we really wanted to leave our coat with her. Attentive and joyful are the best words to describe this delighful young lady. I misplaced her name card else would have written a personal thank you to her. In the evening when we asked for a recommendation of Dutch restaurant the male concierge too was equally enthusiastic and helpful. Grand Amrath, a salute to your brilliant concierge team and your reception team too! Reception staff were all helpful and friendly. It would have been even nicer to have been offered a welcome drink as it was really cold and very tiring after a long train right. Reception sent someone quickly when we were unable to set our safe as the instructions did not mention it needed a 6 digit code. Our room on the ground floor was quiet and we felt safe even though it faced the main road. Room was large and cosy and we slept so well on that mattress and pillows. Wifi in room was fast and free, and there was also free minibar. We don't drink alcohol but it seemed to have a good range of mini alcohol bottles and soft drinks. The choc and peanuts were good. Apart from having to boil and throw out the water a number of times to wash out the coffee machine, I had two excellent cups of coffee during our one night stay. For those with luggage, just note there's a slight flight of steps from street to lobby. Easier to enter by side door on left next to revolving door after you climb the steps. Definitely would love to come back and stay in this hotel again.

We went to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff were more than helpful, the wellness center was so relaxing. The bedroom had everything you could need and the most comfy bed, and a huge bath and shower. We would love to go back.

I stayed at this hotel with my family. It was a short trip to celebrate my retirement. The hotel was excellent and extraordinary value for the price which we paid. It is on the north side of the old town and shopping centre and very conveniently located 5 minutes walk from the central Station. The hotel pool and wellness centre was one of the best which I have experienced in a city-centre hotel. The pool is short but swimmable and the sauna and hammam were very agreeable. We ate the continental breakfast in the hotel bar - very copious and excellent value for 13 euros. We also rented bikes from the hotel to tour the town - a great way to see Amsterdam and good value at 15 euros per day The free minibar was a temptation we did our best to resist, but a g&t after a day cycling is a great way to start the evening.

Located very close to the city centre, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room looked and felt very luxurious. We enjoyed a canal trip on one of the boats which was only a 5 minute walk, the mini bar was included in our room and was stocked with everything you could wish for. A very good experience; I would definitely go there again if I stay in Amsterdam.

Usually this hotel is very expensive, but on promotions it might be a treat deal with its free minibar, refilled each day. Breakfast not included , but plenty of places to eat around. Great experience!

We arrived in the morning after a very long flight from Australia. The lady at reception was very difficult. We were aware that the hotel was not fully booked and that we were entitled to a room at 2pm. She made us wait for our room till 1.30. All other staff members were great. In my recent travel in Europe we were not required to wait till 2 pm for our room. I will not recommend this hotel. The window looked into other parts of the building and thus claustophobic. Wonderful location, within walking distance of just about everywhere! Beautiful hotel with interesting artwork at every turn. The staff were helpful and friendly and the wellness centre was gorgeous. There were a couple of tiny faults with the room when we arrived, very minor though and we would definitely stay again.

Mini-bar is free for all guests, free WIFI, beautiful rooms and wonderful building. Warm staff and heated basement pool. Walking distance to the train station. Got it at a very special rate. Great value. My kids were so excited seeing the video of the room. Most memorable part of our stay in Amsterdam.

This hotel was such a treat! Great location, and alot of character. Great staff and very cool ambience. I never used any of the restaurants in the hotel, but as always, they seemed abit pricier than some of the other local options closeby. I would return here without a question, and it is definitely bettter than the average hotel chain.

Hotel staff were polite and very helpful. My ground floor room was large and beautifully furnished with modern contemporary decor. The complimentary minibar was a pleasant surprise as was excellent coffee maker. The spa pool was a good size and the steam and sauna facilities were very good. Free wi fi was anothe bonus as well as access to computers in the small business centre. Breakfast too expensive to try but this was only fault.

Other than the curtains having a mind of their own, the small size of the rooms, and the mediocre spa, our stay at the Amrath was AMAZING. The location could not have been better (a 5 minute walk from the red light district) and the staff and room service were great. The entire set up is very unique with surprises lurking around every corner. The wellness center is a must see. This is certainly a high-class hotel catered to a younger, thriving crowd.

Soaring high ceiling and remote-powered curtails; large bathroom and tub; warm art deco wood paneling; and comfy bed with piles of pillows. Still the room design simply could not handle the desk and chair, without all of banging ino the bed and cabinet. Concierge's two dinner recommendations: Lucius for seafood; and for contemporary Dutch cuisine, de Silveren Spiegel, were superb both for kind service and sublime dining, espcially for a solo diner. This hotel is an easy, quick walk to Dam Square, or Centraal Station.

The hotel was beautiful and the location was perfect. There is a free mini bar in the room. The pillows are an odd shape so it took a couple nights to get used to it. Also sometimes those automatic windows would go off randomly, maybe it was a Dutch ghost. The staff was great, only one issue though. Upon checking out we were quoted 45 Euro for the cab and we specifically asked for a cab that took credit cards, however we were provided with a cab that only took cash and he charged us 58 Euro. That was a bummer, or else I would have said 5 stars. The hotel is near the central station and the red light district. Walkable distance from many touristic places.

Sehr Zentrale Lage. Grosszügige Zimmer mit bequemem Bett. Minibar ist gratis! Was wir sehr schätzten nach den langen Ausflügen.Frühstück muss extra bezahlt werden -total überteuert! Hotel ist riesig, fast wie im Irrgarten.
