Grand Burstin Hotel Folkestone
4 out of 5

Only stayed for a night en-route to France and wasn't expecting much for the low price paid however the room was comfortable and clean, an extra single bed provided for our daughter and the staff were helpful and polite despite being overloaded with several group travel coaches arriving at the same time as us. Heating was good and an electric heater also provided which wasn't needed. Breakfast was provided which was very good again considering the price. Only downside was a lack of ventilation in the bathroom. Although the place felt like it was from a bygone era, this gave it a certain charm, will stay again.

Although a room was rather small, most of the staff members are friendly. Check-in and out were eventually somehow efficient despite I saw many English guests stayed at the hotel. Free wifi was available within my room. There were many hungry guests and breakfast gone very quickly! The hotel located near the town centre and I enjoyed walking alongside the sea. Taxi was waiting outside the hotel and cost about £5 to Folkestone Central train station.

Rooms are incredibly small but very clean and quiet. Breakfast is quite varied but average quality. Parking was full so we had to park in the pay&display across the road. But you can't beat it for the price.

somewhat old fashioned hotel - very popular with coach holiday firms, consequently very busy but the size of the hotel meant that it was not a problem. great value for money for a very well located hotel with great views in all directions. Just wish that they hadf an effective hotel fact sheet that gave upto date infomation of ongong activities.

A cold wet & stormy night in Winter isn't recommended to be in Folkestone, but the greeting & room was warm. Whilst a gale howled in the Channel the resident singer entertained the appreciative crowd. Although not my cup of tea, but that's not why I stayed here. The price & location was excellent, the room and food adequate, the staff friendly. All in all excellent value for money.

A lovely hotel in a great location, with bedrooms overlooking the harbour and within easy walk of the town. Breakfast was good and plentiful, complementary papers were provided, the room was fine, would recommend without reservation

Hotel looking very tired and in need of modernisation. The night we stayed there were 3 private functions on and there were over 800 guests .Could not find a parking space anywhere and had to park offsite. Huge queues the next morning for breakfast - out into the lobby and no free tables.

The Hotel Grand Burstin Folkestone was exceptional value, because we booked over the internet we did not realise until we arrived that you could upgrade to a better room, We upgraded for the meals and wished we had paid the extra money for the room. Next time we shall know. The service and food value was exceptional.
