Location
A regular bus service runs from Cork Centre to Ballingeary - a journey of two hours, and Cork International airport is around a 40 minute drive from the Gougane Barra Hotel. The property is ideal for those who love fishing and permits can be obtained from the gift shop which is adjacent to the property.

There are 27 guest rooms including a family room capable of accommodating up to two adults and two children. The units feature ensuite facilities, superb lake or mountain views and also benefit from a hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.

We were captivated by the beauty and the setting of the hotel. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday with the chance to do lots of walking then this hotel is ideal. The owners are extremely friendly and made our stay most enjoyable. The food was excellent and reasonably priced.

This hotel is situated in a most beautiful and peaceful spot on Gougane Barra Lake. You can row on the lake and walk in the nearby forest. The hotel itself has a lovely old fashioned feel about it and the dining room has a panoramic view of the lake. Neil, who was in charge during our stay is very friendly and welcoming. If you like peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings this hotel is the place to stay.
