Gorizia A La Valigia Hotel Venice Guest Reviews (3)
The location of the hotel is amazing. Once you get used to the tiny alleys in Venice, you'll realize how close this hotel is to every important location. Only 3-5 minutes walk to Rialto and St. Mark's Square. And about 15min to the Ferrovia. The staff is pretty alright. I bet they are just sick of all the tourists crawling around every second. :) The breakfast is simple, but tasty, the basic sausage, ham, cheese, cream cheese selection for ppl who like salty, croissants, fruits, honey and jam for the sweet lovers. The juice was undrinkable (it was from some concentrate, but tasted like it's not mixed with water...ugh). The coffee machines are amazing. Tastye spresso, cappuccino latte macchiatto, cafe latte, hot chocolate, hot milk... yumm. The breakfast room itself is very crowded with tables and chairs but no need to wait for long to get a free seat. The staff at breakfast is very friendly and smiley. The room we had was tiny but very lovely and had a little balcony also. The TV have like 100 channels, but nothing english. :) I don't really know what I was waiting for though in Italy. :) Anyways. Our stay was really nice. And I recommend Gorizia A La Valigia for everybody who cares about location and comfort, but doesn't want to pay a fortune. :)

the worst ever hotel we have ever stayed in our entire lives. Our room key (magnetic) did not work. After a long flight we were tired, but had to deal with this problem with the front desk who did not speak English. After long explanation when they understood the problem, they gave us the master key, which we had to return to the reception every time we went into our room and when we left the room too. It was the 31st Dec night, and we were in a hurry to get ready and go to dinner, and when we were doing just that, suddenly the ceiling just above the master bed started leaking, and splashing water all over the computer which was on the bed directly under the water leak! We again contacted the front desk and lost a lot of time explaining, and finally it stopped leaking. But what they said to us was that it was an ancient building and when guests from above us use the shower it may leak downstairs! What an excuse! We were so inconvenienced and wasted so much precious time. We need to be compensated and want our money back.

This is not a huge hotel with a bar, a grand canal entrance and all mod cons. But it's a very decent, well placed small venitian hotel which does what it does very well. We shared a triple room with our eight year old and there was plenty of space for us all. There's no resteraunt and nearby places to eat are San Marco prices but that's because your so close which can be a good thing. Would certainly consider going again
