"I now realize the Hotel Goldenes Schwert is not the same as the cheaper Residence Goldenes Schwert: the hotel rooms have their own toilet and bathtub, the rooms in the Residence 100 yards away have a shower but the toilet is on the corridor. For the rest the infrastructure is comparable. There may be noise from rock music in the basement in both places: we're in the middle of a very cosy Zürich club district."

"Location is great. However, the club dowstairs makes it really dificult to sleep. Would not stay there again."

"Stayed in this hotel last July 2008. The hotel location is great, in the old town, where tourist amenities are close by. The staff are very polite and accomodating. Being in the tourist area, the place could be noisy especially on weekends but closing the windows will alleviate the problem. Try to stay on the upper floors so that you will not be bothered by the disco bar in the first floor. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and we will be coming back in this hotel in case we will visit Zurich again. "

"The artwork on the walls of the rooms can be hard to get used to at first since they depict alternative lifestyles and the music from the club can get loud at night but the staff are very friendly and its location is right in the city center. Also the breakfast is delivered to the room at the time of your choice. All in all its a great place for the price and I can recommend it."

"To bad there is a club downstaires and between 12 o'clock in the night till 6 a.m. the music and the smoke are too much. You can not sleep between these hours. It is not a hotel where you can rest, and not a hotel to go with a baby. The rest is ok."
