The first room we were given was room 645 and we were greeted by a large Asian cockroach. The second room we got was 655 and the bathroom floor was always flooded because the shower head sprayed water onto the edge of the tub and water just drip to the floor uncontroled.

The hotel provides everything you could need. The only complaint I have is that very little information was forthcoming when we booked in regarding the services that the hotel offered. We did'nt find out for two days that a shuttle bus was provided to go to and from Georgetown. We also wanted to visit the fireflys (on a guided tour) but they would not offer any info. As a result we arranged it ourselves. Meals were up to standard. I did mention to staff that the downstairs ladies toilet in the foyer needed attention. I guess I had to take into consideration that the hotel was full but I felt that they could have taken more interest. Apart from these couple of issues I would recommend that hotel for anyone who wants to stay there.

Hotel staff were very thoughtful and helpful. The hotel setting is very nice as well. The Garden restaurant serves good breakfast and dinner. The dinner we had at SiGi was a bit disappointing. The additional activities for kids as well as Tai Chi were good. We''d a lovely holiday here.

I think this is a best hotel in Penang. Located in beach area with many watersport facilities. For swimming, I recommend to go to Monkey beach by hotel boat. There are many good restaraunts in Golden Sands and nearby Shangri-la Rasa Sayang resort. All of them have 20-40% discount for hotel''s guests. Very good buffet dinner in Japanese and Garden restaraunts. Breakfast with great choice. Will recommend this hotel to all my friends.
