Golden Crown Paradise Puerto Vallarta Exclusive Adults Only Guest Reviews
The hotel is only couple of miles from the airport and right on the beach. Short walking distance away from Marine Terminal and $5 away from downtown. Their "Deluxe" rooms are best option if you want to see and hear ocean waves. But make sure you don't get 1st/2nd floor since view would be blocked by beach bar and not worth the upgrade over standard. Out of their fine dining options, Salvadore's has the best staff/atmosphere. Do ask for some "Spanish coffee" for a desert - you'll see a great show of flaming alcohol being poured in between various containers. Oh, and beware that their "Information Desk" staff will actively try to invite you to a timeshare presentation.

The hotel is conveniently located near the marina and the airport. It is an older hotel with some "deferred maintenance," but the staff is great and the ala carte restaurants were good. It was adults only, with a companion resort next door that had families. We love our grandchildren, but appreciated the fact that it was for adults. We would stay there again.

This was our 6th year at the Golden Crown Paradise and again we had a great time. The staff are very hard workers and do their very best to please. We thought that the service at the restaurants in the evening was a little slow this year taking between 2 and 2 1/2 hours to eat and that the food was not as good as it had been in past years. However, this not deter our enjoyment at this property. The value is excellent and the accommodations are comfortable. We highly recommend this property.

We stayed at the Golden Crown Paradise for 10 nights. Upon arrival we were greeted with a cold towel, which was comforting in the Vallarta heat. We were almost 2 hours early from the 3PM check-in time but this was not a problem. They let us into the hotel, and could start to enjoy all of the amenities immediately. The room became available a little late around 3:20. We stayed in an Oceanfront room. The room was fairly large with a large bathroom + full bathtub. These rooms also come with a decent sized balcony with the promised Ocean front view. The cleanliness of the room was great throughout the trip. Lacking terribly was a comfortable bed. The beds were hard and older, and if you moved even slightly the entire bed would shake. Another feature lacking was a fridge/mini-bar in the room. When we asked about this the concierge said that it was not needed because they have 24 hour room service. Speaking of room service, it was not always immediately available 24/7, and they did not serve alcoholic drinks. When requesting a beer with dinner they asked us to "go to the bar, they are all open". Going back to room comfort, the towel service was lacking. The cleaning staff would knock on your door at 9AM and ask for your dirty towels. Many days we did not get our clean towels back until 4 or 5-ish. (and we had to call several times to get them). Very inconvenient if you want to shower before going to town for the day. We figure that they don't have enough towels to go around, so they have to wash the used batch from the previous day to get everyone replenished. The pool at this hotel was decent, but lacked a swim up bar. The infinity pool appeared close to Olympic size in length. Drink service at the pool and beach was available, but they needed additional staff to provide faster service. We could freely use the pools at the sister hotel the Golden Club. However, the swim up bar at that hotel was not adequate for the number of guests staying there. There was probably only 4 seats at the bar, and they were always full. At golden crown the music in the afternoon was not good. They often played slow sleepy music that didn't fit with the mood of the people there. It was an older crowd than we expected, and did not have any "Adult" oriented games that you would expect from an adults only hotel. Regarding the food, we were mostly not impressed all though some nights were excellent. The breakfast choices were lacking even at the buffet (Paradise). Additionally lunch sit down service was also usually cold. One of the best options for lunch was the pool side snack service. The had fantastic hamburgers from 12-5PM each day - cooked fresh. We ended up eating them most days! For dinner the Fukishima (mind my spelling) (Japanese) restaurant was spectacular. They have a sushi bar (all you can eat), as well as ordered services. All though it's called "Japanese", most of the menu was Asian cuisine coming from Vietnam, or China. I would highly recommend the fish there for the main course, as at ALL of the other dinner restaurants. Additionally we could have just eaten from the Sushi bar as they had great choices. Only rolls though, they did not have sashimi (raw fish slices). The spicy soya sauce worked very well with the wasabi. The international restaurant was also very good and they even had Grand Marnier as a drink option. It was the real stuff, and if you know it, you probably love it! Great over any of their deserts, or straight up! The drink choices overall were ok. A lot of the high end liquors were not available. Notably missing "Hornitos tequila" (our personal fav.) Service was almost always excellent. Every bartender was friendly, and well trained on all of the drink choices. They even make good Ceasar's which isn't always the case in Mexico. Location was great, only 10 mins from downtown, and a short walk to "Outback Steakhouse", and other American chain restaurants. The beach is great for the fact that you can walk almost endlessly t
