The first room we were put in was very noisy because of the air conditioning units outside our room window. The staff were fabulous and had us moved straight away. Nothing was a hassle for them, they were polite, friendly and definitely made our stay a welcome one. The location is perfect- right across the street from the Fremont street experience and close to the bus stop that will take you all the way into the Strip. Would definitely book again when we come to Vegas!

This place is pretty basic but clean. No frills is the name of the game. Free wireless available. You can't go wrong if your staying down near Fremont Street.

On Dec 22, about 10 pm I went to Cafe and they would not take my order. They were laughing hysterically, ignoring my requests. I went back to my room and pushed the button for the cafe. They still won't take my call. I had to call the front office to transfer the call to make an order. There's no need to fun of your guests, even if they're different. However,The food is good and reasonably priced in such a metropolis..

We had to cancel this hotel. I would not allow my dog to stay that this place. On paper it looks very nice but it is in a dangous part of town and very seedy. Sleeping on the floor would be better than on their beds-the mattresses are harder thab boards. Not a very good recommendation to use you again

My 2 year old ended up with bruises all over her forehead because Gold Spike would not bring extra pillows to my room, when I asked over and over again. The heater had a burning smell when I turned it on. I had to turn the heater off because I didn't like the smell. I had to cuddle with my 2 year old, so she wouldn't get cold. It was upper 60's in the room. There was no ice machine on the floor I was on; at least none where I had access to it. The bathtub looked dirty. Customer service was BAD. The room was clean and the beds were made. The registration employee was so nice as to give me a room right next to a super bright 2 foot wide light, right outside my window. It made my room look like daylight at night time. Like I said, you get what you pay for.

While the room was very clean, it was also very sparten. No chairs or dressers. Some rooms are not in same building as Casino. Area is semi-shady. Food at Cafe was bad. A/C was very noisy and metal doors into pool area where our room was located bang loudly when closed. Tough to sleep with noise. If your there to gamble, this may be for you. Otherwise, I would pick a different hotel.

It provided a clean bed, bath and place to rest. We were on the road a lot so did not spend time at the hotel. If we had to spend time we would have been disappointed. For the price it was okay and we had good service. The closeness to Fremont St. was good but not much else in the way of entertainment in the hotel itself.

Hotel place is in quiet part of city. You have to take a bus, it takes about 30min to reach the center of the town. But everything was very good!

When I gave my 100 dollar deposit when checking in the lady said I would get it back at checkout, I asked her if I was all set with everything being paid for including resort fees which should of been included. She said yes I would get the whole deposit back. At checkout they took resort fees out of the $100.00 which left us with no money for the day. We was basically charged over 8 dollars a day for internet and taxes, we did not use valet. So resort fees pricy and should of been communicated at check in. Pool was nice.

No parking for hotel guests. No coffee pot, and no coffee available for guests. They do not have any extra pillows at all so if you need more than one you had better bring your own. No ice buckets in room no ice machine. When they did bring an ice bucket to fill up in the bar it was dirty. Last day saw cockroach in bathroom. Left two towels for 3 people. The staff is not very friendly almost like your putting them out by being there. However the restaurant staff was very friendly. And we were stuck there for 6 nights!

This hotel is just one block from the Freemont Experience right in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. It was nice, basic bare essentials, which is all I was looking for. It's modern Ikea furniture and brightly painted walls. There is free parking just behind the hotel. There is also a Walgreens maybe 2 blocks away, so you don't even have to drive to pick up necessities.

Hoping this review will save people from making the same mistake as me and staying at the Goldspike. Came into town for a large event; booked the hotel months in advance. Even with that being the case, the hotel DOWNGRADED (didn't even know a hotel could/would do that) us to a single queen room, where as we were four people and had expressly requested two beds. What's more upsetting is that even when the mistake was made NO attempts were made to rectify the situation. They refused to lend us a roll-away, extra mattress or even extra bedding. On the second day the toilet stopped working and it took them twenty five hours to come to fix it. Also, there's virtually no parking, so you have to use the complimentary valet, which is fine, except they lost my key. Glad I brought an extra. Also, photos they have online are HEAVILY photoshoped. Don't expect anything nearly that clean or well maintained. Simply put, if a review can put a place out of business, I hope this one does. They completely deserve it. Also, please read the fine print of your orbits reservations because, and this is the real kicker, I have no way of getting my money back for this horrible experience from either the hotel or [...].

Good place for the price. All I need is a place to crash in Vegas nothing fancy. This was exactly what I was looking for.

The location of the hotel was great. The down fall is that they dont have a microwave or mini refrigerador in the room. They also charged you $7.95 per night, for using their amenities when there WAS NOTHING to use. How sad. I recommend for those who are only there for the weekend. Otherwise, most likely I wouldnt stay there again.

Great Room. Thought it was going to be cheap for the price but was actually very clean and location was great! Right at the south end of the Las Vegas Blvd strip. Nice and friendly customer service. Overall, would def. stay at this place again when I come back to Vegas. Great Price and Great Room = awesome deal!
