Weimar Climate
This town experiences four distinct seasons. During the summer, the average temperature can reach as high as 24ºC, but winters are very cold and average temperatures are just below zero some weeks. Rainfall is heaviest in the summer, when more than 250 mm can fall in just one month.
Getting There & Around
The Autobahn A4 flows right through Weimar, connecting it to the rest of Germany. An express train line, known as ICE, links this city to Frankfurt and Berlin. Trains leave the town and arrive every hour, and the nearest airport is in Erfurt.
An unusually effective public transportation system operates in this small town. Buses serve the entire metropolitan area and the nearby villages as well. Several places throughout the city rent bikes for daily and weekly usage to tour the city.
