International visitors should arrive at the airports in Frankfurt, Berlin or Munich. These airports all manage convenient train schedules bound for Jena. The Intercity-Express, a high-speed train out of Berlin, stops just east of this city on its way to Munich.

Jena maintains a good public transport system in the Jena tramway network. The city also manages an extensive bus network that covers the whole city.
