Hildesheim Climate
Hildesheim enjoys a continental climate with summer highs around 20-23°C and winter lows falling just below freezing. Snow is common from December through March, and Hildesheim has an average rainfall of 50 cm, with most rain falling in the summer months of June through August.
Getting There & Around
The A7 motorway connects Hildesheim to the main autobahn network, and the Mittellandkanal provides a manmade waterway for boat travel. InterCityExpress provides rail service, and there is a local airport. The larger city of Hanover is only 30 km away.
Hildesheim is easy to cover on foot, but there are cheap taxis and buses to use for travelling outside the city limits.
