Precipitation falls evenly in the Black Forest region throughout the year. However, the summer is when there is a greater chance of rain. The best time to plan a visit to the Black Forest is in the late spring or early autumn. During these seasons the weather is comfortable and the tourist areas will not be as busy. Depending on the planned activities, visitors may also enjoy visiting the Black Forest during the summer and winters as well.

Getting There
The Black Forest region is easy to reach by air through the EuroAirport (Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg). This airport is connected to the Freiburg and Stuttgart airports, and it also has train services.
By car, travellers can access the Black Forest by A5, which runs through the Rhine Valley and links to France and Switzerland. The A81 goes through the east of the Black Forest and connects the city to Karlsruhe and Stuttgart.
Upon arriving in the Black Forest, visitors will find that the city has a great network of buses. Routes will travel to surrounding villages, and tickets are easily purchased in a variety of ways. Express buses are also available to passengers to help get tourists around the area quickly and efficiently.
