The nearest International Airport is located in Salzburg, Austria, some 25 km from Berchtesgaden, and is accessible by bus or hire car. The Watzmann Express train from Salzburg is a 45-minute journey. This service can also be used to travel to surrounding districts.

For maximum convenience, it’s wise to hire a car and drive yourself, as the attractions here are spaced apart and public transport is limited to some areas.
