Bad Homburg Hotels

Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, or quite simply Bad Homburg, is a notable spa town of over 50,000 people in the state of Hesse. As a picturesque satellite suburb of Frankfurt, the wealthy Hochtaunuskreis community stirs interest from domestic and international tourists in need of restorative artesian well-water therapy. Like a lot of other spa resorts in Germany, Bad Homburg first drew the attention of the Russian nobility in the early 19^th century. Half a century later, Kaiser Wilhelm II decided to make his summer home in the town’s castle and subsequently bankrolled the sprawling Erlöserkirche (Church of the Redeemer). With a royal seal of approval, Bad Homburg’s fortunes changed irrevocably for the better. Thanks in no small part to a gorgeous location in the foothills of the Taunus mountains, the spa town is a magnificent day trip from Frankfurt.
