Getting There & Around
There are two airports close to Altenburg; one is the Leipzig/Altenburg Airport, used mostly for cheap commercial flights to London, Edinburgh and Barcelona. The Leipzig/Halle Airport is just fifty kilometres away and services international flights.
Most local people get around by bus and there are six different lines that connect the downtown area to the outlying regions. There is also a train station on the Leipzig-Hoff line. Many people ride bicycles around the city.
