Genova Hotel Rome
4 out of 5

My staying at Genova Hotel Rome was a good experience since the hotel is next to public transportation hub, Termini, and near to many interesting historical locations and shopping areas. The hotel management needs to be more friendly. The extra charge related to city tax (15 euro/night) was not indicated during reservation. More transparency is needed and hidden charges should be avoided. Moreover, WiFi cost was also not clearly indicated.

This is my second stay at this hotel. The location is great: a couple of blocks from the main train station and metro, plus a walking distance from some major attractions. The hotel is for the most part fine: clean rooms, OK staff, and reasonable breakfast. On the flip side, the rooms are small, and the room I stayed in this time had connecting door to another room, which meant that I could hear everything that was going on in the next room.

The staff was helpful, courteous and welcoming throughout our stay. I would recommend this hotel anytime. The room was clean, large and up to date. The shower was small but got the job done. Being in the city there was traffic noise if the window was open, but when shut, the room was quiet. The hotel is close to the bus station so travel through the city was inexpensive. In my mind this is a 5 star hotel.

The hotel is very close to Termini, Trevi Fountain, and the Coliseum. The staff was extremely warm and friendly. They helped us set up tours, gave us directions to all tourist sights, and recommended restaurants in the city.

Great hotel well positioned in relation to train station. Net price for room was good but when we needed to extend for a couple of days we were very disappointed with a grossly inflated price. Considering we were already in residence this was a bit unreasonable. All else was great.

This hotel was a breath of fresh air. The decor was slick and everything was spotlessly clean. The rooms were quite well equipped although the rooms on the lower floors were quite noisy due to the underground trains. My children were given a triple room on the upper floor which was huge and quite spectacular.

Clean, friendly hotel but could do with internet access (PC business area) and a little more at breakfast time.

An excellent location right next to the main railway station with direct services to the airport .The breakfast was somewhat overstated the hot buffet never was hot. The room was small but was adequate.

Newly renovated hotel 2 blocks from Termini station and subway. Small cosy rooms, very clean. Our room had hardwood floors; Extras we liked: a safe to store valuables; towel warmer; bidet ;climate controls/AC. Elegant bathroom. Shower is small. Double insulated windows and shutters kept down street noise. Excellent hot breakfast. Hotels in Rome are expensive because real estate there is very high, but this one was a fair value.

They are friendly and treat guests nicely. Breakfast is fine. Although the space of the room does not seem enough it is worth that price.

The hotel is finishing its restoration which means that there is a lot of dust but the style is really good. Two blocks from the train station you can walk almost anywhere in Rome or get to metro and buses quickly. Nice breakfast offered.

We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel after some of the stories we have heard about hotel accommodation in Rome. The hotel is undergoing major renovation, the floor that we were on had just been completed and was well above our expectations. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is overpriced for the services it offers. It has not seen a decorator since the 1960s and looks tired. On the positive side, the rooms are passable and clean, and the bathroom quite large. On the negative side, the bar area looks like a university rec room. This hotel is located on a very busy street on the way to the train station, and although it might be convenient, it is also very, very noisy. Light sleepers will find no repose in this hotel.
