Garden View Hong Kong
4 out of 5

This is a decent business hotel in HK Central. First of all, I have to say that the room is big by Hong Kong standard. It's approximately 25 sqm. with bathtub. The only cons I can think of is the location. You will need to take a taxi to travel back to the hotel as bus service is not always available. Anyway, considering the price, cleanliness, and space provided, we will stay here again.

I loved that I was close to Central and yet I was in a neighborhood next to the parks. It's an easy walk to Admiralty and Central.

This is a good place to stay if you're looking for no frills and need to be located around in mid-levels. The hotel itself offers a comfortable, basic room - on the small side and with limited amenities - staff are friendly enough, efficient rather than overly welcoming. If you don't mind the walk up and down the hill then it's well located for Central but otherwise getting to and from the hotel requires either a taxi or the bus. As Hong Kong hotels are generally expensive, this represents a good alternative, but don't expect more than you pay for.

A good hotel choice. Large room for Hong-Kong and the location is convenient after you learn how to cross the Botanical garden to go to Soho and Central. Convenient little shop open 24 hours in front of the hotel and a nice western style restaurant just across the street, 8F. Never a problem to get a taxi, max wait: 2 minutes. The only thing one could reproach is the absence of cash machine in the area.

Excellent central location at a very good value, Bus stop in front of hotel and bring you to Peter St Central subway station. Avoid rush hours, subways are congested and taxi at a stand still.

I stay here at least once a year while in Hong Kong. The rooms are very basic, clean, and for Hong Kong standards, quite spacious. The pillows are all very flat and need replacing, and the mattress and bed frames are in need of some maintenance. The location is not that great as it is at the start of a one way street. To leave here you need to either catch a bus or taxi into Admiralty or Central from outside the front door, or walk across the bridge to do the same. There is a supermarket (Park'n'Shop) located next door and the meals they serve in the YWCA next door are cheap and good. The price you pay for staying here reflects the cleanliness and size of the rooms. If you want to stay somewhere quiet in HK, this is a good place to stay.

Good rooms, ressonable size though bathrooms a bit small, excellent location and friendly informative staff. restaurant on the premises but noy part of the hotel so you cannot sign meals to your room and the buffet breakfast was not very good. However, since there are numerous places in town for breakfast, that is not a problem. For the overall package, a very very reasonable price.

Maybe because I booked this hotel just few days in advance it was very expensive. Location could be better as well. Too far away from center. Very clean and simple rooms.

The room was clean and functional, a bit small but okay by Hong Kong standard. The window overlooked the Botanical Garden with beautiful view. There is a supermarket next door for all kinds of supplies. The location is far away from business or shopping areas which could be inconvenient.

The stay was ok and average but the one thing I must mention was I particularly booked for a smoking room, however when I arrived they said the whole hotel is non-smoking rooms. I was disappointed much, cos I wasn't being told before I confirm the booking and when I was doing the booking on line, no replying email saying that Garden View has no smoking room facilities. Please make note with this, if next time the guests want a smoking room, please let then know is available or not before the booking confirmation, but not at the door step when they check in. Thanks for your time and kindness, bests with your business!

It is slightly out of the way from the MTR stations, though still walkable downhill. The view from the room is good, and the room itself is also excellent. Very clean and well maintained. It is just too bad that one has to charge Internet service.

There weren't any double rooms left like we had reserved so they upgraded us to to deluxe twin. After seeing our view, they couldn't have even forced us the get a standard. The view was a amazing, over the zoological park to the amazing skyline of HK. Hotel didn't have room service but we didn't come there to sit in a hotel so no problem there, and refrigerator's prices were cheap. 20 dollars by taxi or nice 15-25 minutes walk from nearest mtr stations.

I often stay here because I used to live in the same Road and go jogging nearby. It is a little way from the main shops, but there is a good bus service. The hotel is separate from the main YWCA building. The facilities are OK and the rooms are clean. Some have good views. I would reccommend to anyone. Price per room often varies and when on discount represents good value.
