Location
Garden Hotel is located on Muromachi-dori. Karasuma-Oike Station on Subway Tozai Line is a short walk away from the hotel. The Museum of Kyoto, Higashi Honganji and Shosei-en Garden are some of the not-to-be-missed attractions of the city.

The hotel itself is not impressive looking, but the bedroom was comfortable enough (even though the bathroom is quite small) . The hotel is very conveniently located near a train station and a bus stop, restaurants (although most were closed for year-end holidays), convenience stores, a drug store, and a department store. It is great for tourists who plan to stay out of the hotel most of the day. I am not sure if it is because of the year-end holidays in Kyoto, but I found the room more expensive than nicer rooms (of the same class) in Tokyo.
