Very unhelpful front desk, made no effort to accomodate our request for double beds. The entire hotel is one big party scene so if you were planning to be asleep at 3AM, then you're not hip enough to stay here. Trying to be trendy they fell off a cliff.

Hotel was very gracious when I asked for a coffee maker. They not only provided it, but threw in a bag of coffee... I think what separates a 4.5 star hotel from a 2 or 3 star hotel is a "can do" attitude - that is very refreshing to say the least. The staff was very nice and very helpful. One of the best things about this Park Ave. hotel is its location. Right across the street there's an all-purpose 24-Hr "Bread and Butter" (a little like a cafeteria) that served great, breakfast, lunch and dinner. (They did Korean, Japanese, Sushi, plus Italian sandwiches) It was also a coffee shop hang out with great coffeee and WIFI. Their breakfast that cost under $6 was as good as any breakfast you would ever want to stumble on in NYC... I've paid the $50+ variety breakfast in NY, and this plaace competes with it. If all of this wasn't enough, they are also a mini-market with reasonable prices on beverages like bottled water. This place alone probably saved us $200 on a 3-day vacation even though we mainly hit it for breakfast and 1 dinner take out.

This hotel is in good location. The stuff is very friendly and reliable. So, I want to recommend this hotel everyone. But when I was going to sleep, loud noise came from next room. So I complained to front desk. Then next room became calm, but noisy sound did not stop!! Sound from elevator. Maybe other floor's guests make the sound. It was like disco. So we could not sleep well two days. This is reason I rank 2star on this hotel.

I stayed at Gansevoort right after I transferred from Westin Timesquare. Its a class difference. This hotel is luxurious, classy, new, beautiful. It doesn't suck, it comes with extras and options. its good.
