Fretheim Hotel Flam Guest Reviews
One of the most stunning locations in the world. We had a room with a small balcony in the old part of the hotel, which although tired was lovely. Staff couldn't have been more helpful allowing us to use the hotel laundry fro free.

Unfortunately it rained during our one day stay it the Fretheim, limiting the things we could do while there. The hotel staff was pleasant, although there was a back up at check in time. They were helpful in showing us how to take the Flamsbana. The price for such a room is unreasonable considering the few amenities available in the room including a no fridge or tea kettle. The room was small and lacked ambiance. The paint on the walls was peeling where the nightstand had been moved back and forth. The hardwood floors were scuffed with black marks. The lighting was poor. The bathroom tiles were cracked and there was no tissue and had to use toilet paper to blow our noses. The windows opened out over other people's patios where they smoked and talked loudly until all hours of the night, so we had to keep them closed. Breakfast was satisfactory and the dining room was pleasant.

No fridge in room. Free parking beside the building was a nice change after Oslo ! Breakfast was basic but ok - more variety might have been better. Major problems with the door lock on the room - new system and it often left the room door unlocked when it seemed to be locked. fortunately no theft problem there then.

A very nice hotel, if a little impersonal. More for tour groups than independent travellers but still a very nice place to stay

What a lovely hotel. Beautiful setting and SO CLOSE to the rail station. We were there the first week in May and it was pretty quiet. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others, even though we found the rates fairly expensive.
