The Reims Rundown ... Read more »
In the Champagne-Ardenne region of France, Reims is a city with a history that dates back to the Roman Empire. Its rich cultural past has created stunning architecture and attractions that visitors today can enjoy. The Notre-Dame de Reims is grand structure that held the coronation of kings and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the Palais du Tau and the former Royal Abbey of Saint Remi adjacent to the Saint Remi Basilica. The Place Drouet d'Erlon, a plaza square located in the city centre, contains beautiful statues and fountains and is lined with restaurant and bars where you can sit alongside locals to enjoy a glass of wine and French cuisine. You should visit the Porte de Mars, an imposing archway, which is Reim’s oldest structure and makes for great photographs. The Musée des Beaux-Arts displays beautiful collections of classical European artwork of famous masters. There are wineries around Reims, which offer tours and wine tasting. The Celliers Ruinart allows visitors to see the winery and the caverns.
When To Go
Reim’s winters can be cold, whilst spring brings warmth and flowers. Summer is warmer, and the autumn season brings cooler temperatures. There is more rain in the winter than in the summer. Even though the temperatures are fairly moderate, those who travel to Reims should focus more on the city’s attractions, as opposed to the weather.
Winter (December through February): Average temperatures range from 2-7°C (35-44°F)
Spring (March through May): Average temperatures range from 4-20°C (39-68°F)
Summer (June through August): Average temperatures range from 13-25°C (55-77°F)
