Compiegne Climate
Compiegne has a mild climate. Summer highs can go as high as 40ºC in August but generally do not exceed the upper 20s, while winter usually brings freezing temperatures only at night. On average, the town receives about 400 mm of precipitation spread evenly throughout the year.
Getting There & Getting Around
There is no airport in Compiegne, but the Gare du Nord in Paris sends regular trains to this small city. Trains arrive after a trip of about 40 minutes. The A1 motorway also passes near this city in transit from Paris to Lille.
There are free buses operating in the region. Inexpensive taxis are also available for trips to locations that are off the bus routes. The town is small enough that walking is also a pleasant and effective method of transportation.
