Berck sur Mer Hotels

As one of the most coveted destinations on the Côte d'Opale - that celebrated stretch of coast between Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais with expansive beaches and calm waters - Berck-sur-Mer attracts a fair number of city-dwellers throughout the school break months of July and August. As an affordable and relatively quiet beach community, Berck-sur-Mer is a magnet with families from regional capital Lille and indeed, as far away as Paris. Decidedly laid-back and for the most part, devoid of any overt hustle-bustle, the town maintains a tidy ensemble of hotels, restaurants and bars that provide the perfect amount of comfort, sustenance and nightlife. This is one seaside haunt not overrun with too much action though in truth, if visitors want some, fashionable Le Touquet (the “Paris by the sea”) is a mere 15 km away. Aside from the beach, points of interest to keep in mind include the Musée de Berck-sur-Mer Opale Sud and Église Notre-Dame des Sables. The town’s International Kite Festival, held every April, has been a staple event since 1986.
