Arromanches Climate
The climate in Arromanches is maritime, which means that summers can be warm but the winters are usually mild. Occasionally, temperatures in July and August will reach as high as 28ºC. Rain is frequent throughout the year, though summer months will often see only five or six days of precipitation.
Getting There & Around
To reach Arromanches from Britain, take a ferry across the channel from Portsmouth and land at Ouistreham, the port at the farthest east end of the D-Day beaches. Also, trains reach Caen from Paris in just two hours, and this village is just 25 km northwest from there.
Buses travel to and from all the beaches along the coast here. If you rent a car, remember that the French drive on the righthand side of the road.
