Very friendly staff! I was not aware that I would get breakfast included in the price, so that was an added bonus. This is no fancy schamcy hotel, but for being this central, you get a lot for your money. I would recommend to friends and also stay there again. Lots of great middle eastern delicious foods nearby.

Great location. However can be noisy and breakfast needs work. Bed is spring based. Hot and cold water taps are back the front. But would stay again- once you get used to it

Ibooked this hotel for my daughter and 2 teenage kids to give them a chance of visiting London. I had stayed there 45 years ago when I was o nmy honeymoon, and always know how good the location and service was. They found the staff friendly and helpful, and had a clean room and en suite , though it was a little on the small side.Good for a budget holiday. Close to underground and bus stops.

near by the underground station. good breakfast! good choice if you try to save money. only disadvantage is no Wifi and you gotta to carry baggage to walk up staircases without lift. as old buliding, dripping water from ceiling as i stayed at the top floor.

The staff were doing thier best,.the lady behind the reception was nice and kind. Unfortunately the room the quality of the furnishings and bathroom made the price I had to pay seem a complte rip off.

I can't comment on the actual accommodations since the guy at the front desk wouldn't let us check in without a physical copy of our reservation confirmation. My wife and I had booked it on the fly so all we had was the e-mail on our phone. He said we needed to go find an internet cafe and print it out. Since I was carrying 40Kg of luggage on my back and we had been traveling all day I asked if there was some way we could e-mail it to him. He refused and I explained that I thought that was ridiculous considering I have never in my 30 years of living needed a physical copy of the print out. He then became very rude and told me I was being ridiculous, explained in elaborate detail what the process was and that without the copy, he couldn't submit our paperwork for the hotel to receive payment from the third party who we booked through. This was a lie, because once I told him we weren't going to pay for it and that we wanted our money back, he said we'd have to dispute it with the third party, and then we were charged. We still have not to this day gotten our money back. He was a terrible human being and these guys are crooks. All we want is our money back since we weren't allowed even allowed into our room. DON"T GIVE THESE CRIMINALS YOUR MONEY!

At arrival I was greeted by this lovely woman at reception who showed me to my room. It was in the building next door. They keep the door locked to this building so every time you come and go, you have to ask a receptionist to open that door for you! I found this very strange! Although, I asked her to let a friend of mine up to my room when he arrives so we can have a drink in the room then go for dinner. She was fine with it and said if my friend stay I'll be charged an extra £10, for the extra person in my double room which I agreed to. Staff changed, friend came -receptionist run to my door saying, there's a man waiting for me in the lobby, I say let him up, he says no guest allowed in the rooms, I say I told to your colleague about him coming, she said it was fine. He says NO GUEST ARE ALLOWED IN THE ROOM IT SAYS EVERYWHERE IN THIS HOTEL, YOU HAVE TO COME DOWNSTAIRS. I say, I didn't see this sign (there was NO signage of that).... Staff needs to follow same rules!!! Not making them up as they come alone!!!

Handy location to tube and Oxford street as we needed to be close to Hyde park. Room was very basic with an on suite only a small child could use. The mattress had one of those protective covers which left you sweating and un comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and was ok without being special, the coffee though was good. In general adequate but not special.

This has been the worst hotel of my life. The check in was at 14:00, I have arrived at 17:00 and my room was not ready yet. I entered in the room at 18:00. The staff at the reception (one very unpleasant and bad smell guy) was not apolosise at all. No hot water in the shared bathroom. Room very noisy and it was at the last floor (3°) with no elevator. I will not come back in this hotel also if the room will cost 5 pound! NOT RECOMENDED! Antonio Barba

This hotel is for London circumstances average, but have few very good points: the bus stations and tube are very nearby, it was easily to get a night bus from different parts of the city directly infront of the door, have to say the lady at the reception was very very nice and helpful, also could say for the rest of the staff. Some rooms are rather small, but some are ok, averall, for short stay in London, being close to the city is a good choice, if you don't intend to spend too much money.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in and worse that anything I could have imagined. I had to fix the toilet seat. The towel holder was hanging off the wall, the shower tray was disgusting - chipped / broken / dirty and we even saw an insect that looked like an ant crawling up the side of it! The old brown wallpaper was stained and dirty and had areas where pieces were peeling off. The furniture was old and battered and one of the drawers had a handle missing. The bed was hard, no springs and really uncomfortable and the base of it was filthy, covered in disgusting brown stains. The dirty brown carpet didn't reach the skirting boards and was really dusty and the frill at the top of the curtains was hanging off and was also thick with dust. The paint was peeling off the window sill - the terrible view was of some steps and the back of the building. There were cobwebs on the ceiling and walls. There was only one floor level double socket in the room so I had to move the kettle down on to the floor to boil it. The TV (which didn't work!) was plugged in to it and also a white plug with a red light on it - when I unplugged this to see what it was, I found it was a mouse and rat repeller!! Although the TV didn't work, they did have wi-fi so we watched TV on our laptop. I asked if they had another room available but the man on reception was rather rude and said 'no' they didn't (even though they were showing 'vacancies' on the window!) I asked for extra pillows as we only had one each and was told they didn't have any, they were all being cleaned!! (I very much doubted that!) I had to pay cash on arrival as apparently the card machine didn't work and when I asked if I could pay later as I didn't have it on me - he said I had half an hour and then I had to pay! I then had to go out to a cashpoint in the rain when we had only just arrived! The only saving grace was the fairly reasonable full English breakfast served by a very nice lady in a clean-ish but freezing cold dining room in the basement... All-in-all... DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! IT SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN!

If you pay for less less is exactly what you will get. What I found the most unlikeable thing about this place is that the heat in the room did not work and when I brought it to the attention of the staff nothing was ever done. Thankful the temps were mild that weekend. The best thing about the place is that it was a short 10 minute walk to Paddington Station so taking the expresss train to and from Heathrow was effortless.

Arrived late at night and soaked from the rain. The room was in the next building - the inside looked close to a horror movie set. Room had no closets and was almost as big as the bed. After some negotiating they managed to put me in a bigger but beyond basic room. There was a strange looking thing next to the closet which seemed like a mouse/insect trap. Bottom line - great for backpackers in their early 20s, anyone else beware! But at that price, I guess that is what London has to offer....

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!! I had stuff stolen from the room, and packed up to look like no-one had been there. Man on receiption totally unhelpful, he would not even call the police. Clearly involved! They all lied and lied. Got the manager but she also unhelpful. Room so small it was laughable, 2 single beds filled it with only small space between, Ridiciulous steep stairs that the case wouldn't even fit up. Dodgy doesn't even begin to describe this hole! Go anywhere but this dump-the heartache not worth the punt. Yes it is cheap but it is also very nastyThere is simply not enough room to describe this place. Just DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The location is amazing, however the room is very basic, and the bed definitely could've been better. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast offered was basic, but good. If you're looking for extravagance, look elsewhere. However if you're looking for a safe no frills place with great location, this is the place for you. I would recommend if you stay here that you pack light, there are no elevators, and the stair cases have tight turns.

The Hotel was basic, but very clean and comfortable and close to all the attractions and local tube to all destinations. Everything you need for a few nights stay, would go back and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was yummy too.
