Fort William Henry Resort & Conference Center Lake George Guest Reviews
Room was very nice. Large. But, "mountain view" really means parking lot view.... I would go stay there again.

Booked 1 night for 2 through Orbitz at a great price. As a former travel agent, I carefully read the room information before booking the hotel. A note of caution for travelers - there are "motel" rooms attached to the main building - the hotel and resort. The first room we viewed was a cinder block walled small cube on the first floor, with a door open to the parking lot (motel). Not attractive to two women checking in at night. We called the front desk and, to their credit, sent someone over to bring us to an identical room on the second floor. That room, however, had not been cleaned to the standard of this fine hotel. The hotel representative was very embarrassed, and then arranged to transfer us to the main building on the 5th floor with a great lake view. The room was clean, comfortable beds, oversized bathroom and with a fabulous view of Lake George in its fall splendor. There was a full breakfast buffet for $10.95 per person in the dining room and coffee to go for those of us who wanted to get on the road early. I would recommend this hotel to all Adirondack area travelers because of the commendable service from the front desk personnel. There are plenty of hotels & motels within walking distance from this hotel, but it is one of the only "charming" hotels if you take a room in the main building. Avoid the "motel" rooms at all costs.

I was disappointed in Fort Henry Resort. I thought we would be staying in the building pictured on their web- site, but instead we had a room in the motel next to it. Since I prefer having entry from a hall I always choose a Hotel. I can't say that the room was dirty, but it certainly hadn't been updated in years. The location, however, was perfect, and the staff was very friendly. The view was beautiful and we were in walking distance to stores, restaurants, etc. Would I stay there again? Only if I could stay in the Hotel that was pictured.

When we checked in we were place in one of the motel rooms off the main hotel. This room reminded me of a college dorm room. The room wasn't very nice though it did have a nice view of the lake. I returned to the front desk and without so much as a question I was upgraded to a Jacuzzi room with mountain views. The service was excellent and the room was beautiful. Their grounds are a great place to be on vacation. I have been going to Lake George for over 15yrs and from now on I will absolutely be staying at the Fort William Henry Resort.

Our bagpipe band was there for the volunteer fireman's parade. The hotel had made arrangements with several fire departments for breakfast and other activities. The breakfast was a buffet and was available to all guests. The food was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were all friendly. I will definitely go back to Ft. William Henry Hotel again and again.
