Floris Avenue Hotel is on Avenue de Stalingrad in Brussels city centre, near Brussels Midi Station. While in the area, vacationers catch football matches at Edmond Machtens Stadium or watch performances at National Theater.

I stayed here for 4 nights to avoid the Jubilee 'celebrations' in UK. The hotel is pretty much half way between the Eurostar terminus and the centre of Brussels - about 10 minutes on foot - or two stops on the Metro (Lines 3 and 4). The walk from the station at night might put a few people off, as the area is a bit grotty - which makes the hotel a pleasant surprise. A chic, modern interior, with well appointed rooms and bathrooms. The hotel is kept rather hot for my liking but there is effective air con in rooms. Breakfast good too; with hot scrambled eggs and bacon to supplement the usual European offreings. I'd certainly stay here again if visiting Brussels.

The hotel was a decent value for the price, especially being so close to the major attractions and with breakfast included. Family friendly. However, the pictures on the website are a little bit nicer than the real rooms.Walls and carpeting were a bit shabby. But it was very quiet, and the Grande Place, major shopping street, big antique markets, and museums were mostly within a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Plus, with the money you save on the hotel, you could splurge on the Michelin star restaurant across the street!

The Hotel is excellent, the room was very big and comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. I was happy with the location I dont mind a walk and you have to consider price. We saw all the major attractions easily. I have never met staff that cared less, very unhelpful, they where all hopeless. Despite the fact the Hotel is great I would never stay there again because of the staff.

The location was an easy, flat walk from the Midi train station. The room was very spacious. There was no tea or coffee making but there was a mini bar and fridge in the room. The breakfast selection was limited but OK. The general area south of the hotel seemed a little seedy, although to the north wasn't much better. Buy your drinks at the mini mart across the road, not from the mini bar, and you will save a lot of money.
