This hotel is a disaster!! My wife and I paid for all inclusive which is supposed to include meals but we didn't get them and Cheap Trips were useless in getting a refund. When I called Cheap trips for a refund they told me that the Flamingo refused to issue a refund and there was nothing they could do. I guarentee you will not be able to sleep past 5:00 AM due to the noise and you will have to call for room service to get your room cleaned because they won't come unless you do and I guarentee you will not get any wash cloths. The "buffet food" was food was tasteless but the waiters were nice. Also, be prepared for other hotel representatives will hound you in the lobby for you to take trips or stay at their hotel (next door). Oh yes, the Cancun Carribean cruise does not have lobster or a real steak just the imfanous "flat steak" which is about 1/8" thick. The equipment in the fitness center where inoperative and difficult to find if you follow the directions the people

Flamingo's location is very good, is about 15 mins walking distance from from the heart of cancun. The hotel has a beautiful beach. The price is excellentent for the location.

The location is perfect and the room was really nice. We had a Junior Suite with a mini-bar, which was stocked with water, beer and soda. We had to call to get it restocked, but they did do it. We had a very spacious room with a view of the beach. Pools were nice and clean, but a bit cold. Usually beach chairs were available, but sometimes we had to sit on our patio (no complaints there tho because we had our own chairs). Food wasn't the best, but All-Inclusive price was worth it for as much food and alcohol we had while we were there. Some of the staff were very friendly and fun. A couple of the bartenders knew what we wanted and had it ready if they saw us coming before we got there. Others are friendly, but seem less outgoing. Overall staff was good. For the price, it is a great deal!

I had to call for maid service at a daily basis and even though I begged I never got a washcloth. The room didn't have a refrigerator and the cabinet drawers were almost impossible to operate. Sleeping past 5:00 AM is like trying to sleep in a bowling alley! Also, even though we paid for all inclusive the hotel screwed up and we had to buy our food the second time elsewhere, what a mess!!

The hotel location is wonderful and beautiful if you pay a ton more to get an upgraded room. We had a ton of fun in the water and beach! If you are not going to be in the hotel room and dont care about broken tv, showers, sink, toilet or sand all over the room every day then this is definately the spot to stay. We enjoyed our time but did not care about the cleanliness...

My partner and I have travelled extensively around the world. For the price and comfort, it doesn't get better than this. Although a bit older for the Cancun circuit (the resort city was begun only in 1971) the resort delivered exactly what we wanted for an amazing price. We had a junior suite facing the ocean with our own veranda. We wanted a sunny, beach vacation with access to the ruins not too far away. This hotel is centrally located with tons of western establishments--even high-end designer malls and such. As this is not what we wanted, this didn't matter much. However, we were lured into Margaritaville directly across the street and we became Jimmy Buffet "Parrot Heads" for an evening. Overall, the staff were friendly at the resort, the room was clean, and most importantly, the beach and Carribbean are at your feet. We planned this seven months in advance and got a wonderful deal for the time of year--New Year's. The all-inclusive buffet and restaurant are a bit mediocre--hint--stick with local cuisine. The fresh fruits, vegetables and in particular ceviche--were all quite good. Attempts at more 'western' dishes were mediocre at best. With that said, if you like spice and tropical cuisine, you can't go wrong. We did leave the resort a few times of course to engage in other culinary pleasures. One cannot really go wrong in Cancun. The hotel zone has everything for all people and all budgets. This resort, although a bit long in the tooth comparatively speaking to its more upscale counterparts, still delivers--if you are clear for what brings you to the Carribean in a cold, dark European country and the Flamingo was able to deliver by helping us relax and worship the sun and enjoy the blue waters of the Carribean. Would go back if the same price was offered again.

The hotel has nothing to do with what we booked and the comments of the other travelers, at least in my case the only good thing that the hotel had was the location, everything else are areas of opportunity that need to be addressed immediately.

We stayed here for one week in December (pre-season). The room was nice, it's not the Ritz, but it was a nice value for the price. Our room was a balcony suite right on the beach, we had lounge chairs and a great view of the waves. The staff was nice and friendly. there were two large pools, one facing the beach, and one in the protected courtyard if the winds got too bad. The on site restaurant serves a buffet 3 times a day, with a good selection of food. You can choose all included or pay per meal.

start off, beach was beautiful, windy but hotel can not control. rooms and facility was very clean but when asked about the free internet, they said had changed offer months ago. we only booked it 2 weeks befor traveling. can not use phone cards in the room. lobby smeeled of potent cologne where the bedroom smelled of deodorizer. staff front desk and restaurant very cold. Buffet ..taste bland not appeatizing.

We experienced a number of different problems beginning as soon as we arrived at the hotel. Although we arrived after the official check-in time, they did not have a room ready for us. Although they offered us a free "upgrade," the new room stunk of muskiness. Additionally, after returning from dinner, our door lock was broken. Rather than find a different room for us, they sat there and attempted to fix it for the next hour. Meanwhile, we couldn't leave or relax with the multiple staff members hammering away on the door lock while we were forced to watch. The greatest disappointment was that the only real reason we chose this hotel was for it's combination of cheap price and free guest Internet access. Well, that turned out to not be true. They wanted to charge a ridiculous $10 per hour for Internet usage. When we confronted the front desk about it, they claimed that the policy had recently been changed and our booking site must not have updated their information. No amount of pleading would get us a discount, or a credit for internet access. In the future, I will definitely pay the extra money to stay in a different hotel, and I suggest you do the same.

We just returned from this resort. It was a wonderful vacation. The resort is small but very clean. The staff is great and the service they give is wonderful, I would recommend this resort to all travelers who want a great value and a great vacation. The location is great for shopping and the clubs and restaurants. Within walking distance or a short bus ride to all. Bus stop is in front of the hotel.
