Kuusamo Climate
Kuusamo is Finland's most popular ski area for the reason that it is cold and snowy almost all year long. There is substantial snow covering the ground from October through May, and the lowest temperature is around -13°C in February, while high temperatures in July reach 14-15°C.
Getting There & Around
Driving to Kuusamo is recommended due to the long distances between cities and attractions, but there is a local airport for international travellers. You can also take a train or bus from Oulu, and there are bus routes from Kajaani and Rovaniemi.
Most people get around Kuusamo using a snowmobile, since there are snowmobile trails that span hundreds of kilometres. You can also walk safely in the new Ruka Pedestrian Village.
