What a nice break here on the coral coast. Room, facilities and food all very very good. Great swimming, snorkelling and even surfing right out the front. Great for a relaxed few days or longer.

Be prepared for the 90 minute to two hour drive. After a warm Fijian welcome, and quick check-in I was shown to my room - deluxe oceanfront bure. The outdoor shower was a pleasant surpsie - a touch of fivestar luxury. And these are also in the standard Frangipani Bures too, not just the upgraded rooms. Disappointed that I wasnt offered an all-inclusive package upgrade on arrival, but I was on there for a couple of nights. If you are staying longer it is well worth paying the extra to have your meals and drinks included. Excellent staff.

Beautiful resort, beautiful beaches and great staff. Definitely will go back, great for a family holiday or a place to go and relax to get a way from reality. The food was also great!!!!

we broke our stay into two bookings. this is second report. Kids saw turtle on their dive intro outside the reef. While some aspects of the trip were expensive, we made up for that by booking through this site (less than half cost of other family members) and the breakfast included was certainly well worth it! The best meal in the restaurant was the omelet at breakfast. Recommended to relax, get a masage beside the resort (not in it) visit pub across the road for a curry & beer, walk the beaches to the local village, etc. Shark Dive was best ever... with Aqua Trek, Beqa. AWESOME! Masage to left of hotel (walk along beach left from hotel & beside it is the masage hut. (towards Suva). awesome holiday.

The hotel is tired, however staff make up for what the hotel lacks. Fiji Time is certainly aparent, but we had an awesome time. Food was reasonably bland and expensive, and the room was tired. Most time was spent on day trips or at the beach with family. Went to Sand Dunes - AWESOME! sigatoka was ok, with a great meal had on the roundabout at both the curry house (down stairs) or restaurant overlooking the river & bridge. We snorkelled over the reef and saw sharks, sea snakes & fish. That was awesome. we did it several times.

The room was excellent in terms of location, however was quite old. The staff did well in their daily cleaning, but I feel that a makeover is well overdue. The food was average and expensive. Lobster was probably the bnest meal. Staff were excellent and friendly, however I feel that the hotel should pay a little more for the better staff. We ate in Sigatoka (twice); Pacific Harbour and Nadi 1 night each and the meals there were excellent and reasonable. If the htels meals were similar we would have eaten there every night. Breakfasts were awesome and well worth the inclusion in the package, but I feel that we did well NOT including the full meal plan. We filled up on breakfast & had a main to share often. That kept the bill down and made the high price easier to take. We stocked up at the supermarket in Sigatoka (Beer, Spirits, Water, mixers and snacks) and made our own coctails which was much better than paying F$22 per average coctail. Shark diving with Aqua Trek tours was awesome, 12 out of 10! it was a fantastic 8 days in paradise overall. Sunday is sabath and almost everything is closed. only supermarkets were open and the occasional shop in Nadi & Suva. We found that the best prices for souvenirs were at Baravi, a short distance from Hideaway - well stocked and great prices compared to most other places, and appeared more honest than most. I recommend asking for local prices and bargaining. Walk away - they will offer a better price. Tell them that you have found a better price (half their) elsewhere... They'll want the sale! Highly recommended as a relaxing holiday if you understand that things don't always happen as they are supposed to - Fiji Time prevails!

We descended as a family and friends group of 17 - I think this was the only place that could accommodate us. The first disappointment was the staff attitude at check-in - such a vast difference from our previous experiences in Fiji. This attitude unfortunately permeated throughout almost the entire staff, especially the sarcastic diving staff. The whole place is seriously tired. The Bures are very average and the beds uncomfortable. The linen is old. Most fittings didn't work. The food is terrible. One would think they could find fish that was at least somewhat fresh! This place just goes through the motions. Unfortunately there are enough people satisfied with below average for them to not do more.

Fantastic place away from city of NADI. Along a very nice stretch of blue beach with affordable beach front villas, and they have Daily activitie programs to keep you entertained and relaxed..... Recommended to anyone who wish for seclusion and great service. Fantastic place to bring the WHOLE family!

Do not let the "Rydges" brand fool you, they only took over this place 2 yrs ago and plenty of work needs to be done before it meets the stadards that you would expect from any other Rydes Hotel. Being located in the Coral Coast, made it also hard to organise certain tours, as you're 1 hr away from port! we booked for 8 nights and left after 2 nights finding other accomo which made us happier.

Lovely spot to unwind. beautiful gardens, private bures, felt like I was on a 2nd honeymoon, staff excellent and friendly, meals from the "all day menu" well priced and delicious, ATM in lobby very handy, nice stretch of beach to walk along right outside resort, use "Coral Sun" bus as about a 2 1/2 hour trip from Nadi, booking needed for bus use Rosie travel, great resort for families

The resort was big compared to many others yet small enough to be treated with a personal touch. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Facilities were excellent - for all ages. We look forward to staying there in the future (which is already booked, tho not long enough!!!). Don't remember getting a "Thank you" card but perhaps we did...certainly not expected.

Would definitley recommend. We had a fabulous time and the staff were some of the friendliest, most lovely people we have ever met. A place where you can do lots each day or do nothing. We will definitely be going back again.

This is a great place for families, always something going on run by enthusiastic and friendly staff. The whole site is more cramped than some other Coral Coast hotels, but there are quiet spots if you don't have kids. Breakfast is great and included in the price; the rest of the food is so-so.

We found Fiji resorts generally expensive, but within this genre, the Hideaway was very good - the staff excellent and caring. Entertainment was ongoing and sufficiently varied weekly. We enjoyed very much our stay.

The first two nights were problematic, the airconditioning broke and a fuse blew which meant we had to move to a different bure at 11:30 at night. After that, the resort was fine. The food is magnificent!!!!! Well priced with HUGE portions. A 1L bottle of water was about $5 fijian dollars, which is reasonable. The staff were for the majority of the time extremely helpful and the pool although crowded at lunch times was both beautiful and relaxing as well as always clean. Loved the outdoor shower, exactly what was needed in the middle of a fijian summer day. Refreshing and private. Overall great resort with a couple of rough edges.

We enjoyed our stay at Hideaway; the food was superb, position fabulous and the staff excellent and very obliging. Put on your snorkel gear, walk out of your Bure and straight into the Coral Lagoon - amazing. We will return to Hideaway before too long we miss Fiji already.
