My room was wonderful - clean and smelled good. A great view of Grant Park and off in the distance - Soldier Field. Very short walk from Millennium Station, too. The bed was very comfortable, the marble floored bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The front desk clerk went out of her way to try to help me when I left my business cards at home. The concierge offered a free appetizer at his suggested sports bar. I would stay at this Fairmont again.

I was here on a day where no rooms were readily available until well after 3pm. I realize that IS check in time, but not everyone can fly in at the same time and some of us are early birds. They never called me when my room was ready, as promised. I had to badger them about it. The bellhop didn't have my bag delivered to my door until close to 1/2 hour after I got into my room. I called twice and finally, they called me, saying they may have mixed up the tickets. The room was clean and spacious. The decor was modern and nice. The adjacent restaurant/bar, Aria, was amazing. The location leaves a little to be desired, as if you go walking, it's easy to get mixed up and turned around (and this is coming from a native, life-long Chicagoan) There is not much right near the place unless you walk to Michigan Ave. (go north, toward Water Tower, not South. You'll end up in the ghetto otherwise.) However, cabs are plentiful in front of the hotel, so you won't need to walk if you don't want.

We booked this hotel for New Years Eve weekend. We could not even believe the deal we got on it. It came with free valet parking for each night which was a big deal considering its over $50/night to park everywhere in Chicago! The staff were very personable and helpful. We asked concierge about bars in the area and he suggested a great place for us and also gave us a pass for two free admissions. We had a great time! On New Years Eve, my (now) fiance proposed to me at the Navy Pier. When we arrived back to our hotel, the manager could tell we had just got engaged. He lead us to hotel bar where they opened a bottle of champagne for us on the house. It was so thoughtful and they really made our weekend wonderful. We were only there for two days and ate at the same restaurant both nights (it was cold, and the restaurant was close) so as far as location goes its hard to say. Its just a short walk to Michigan Avenue and the Navy Pier though. I would definitely stay here again in the spring or summer if we were able to walk more without freezing. I gave 4 stars on the amenities due to the extra fees associated with the fitness facility and wifi, although we didnt care about those anyways. It would have been a nice bonus though. I would recommend this to anyone.

It was amazing! From the time I arrived, I enjoyed the view from my room overlooking the lake, but also a beautiful roof top garden from the building across the street. On Saturday evening, I was fortunate enough to catch the outstanding fireworks show on the lake. I was most impressed by "Tim" the concierge who helped me pick out an Italian restaurant in Little Italy where I took my best customers! Great experience!

Took my spouce to the city for two days of relaxing fun. I chose this hotel because of its star rating and review rating. I was not disapointed. Although we arrived right at check-in time, and the desk attendant asked if a room with double beds was OK, I explained my situation and got the King room I had asked for through orbitz. Wonderful room with view and very nice decor. It was worth the price and everyone treated us with a smile and respect.

I stayed at the Fairmont for Lollapalooza, primarily for its proximity to Grant Park. I was greeted immediately by the courteous front desk staff and was given a room at 10AM, well before the stated check in time. A huge plus in my book. The room was a "Pure" room - hypoallergenic lodging. It was clean, well appointed and a decnt size. Even with a packed hotel - I only had to wait for the elevators once. All in, a great experience.

We picked this hotel because we needed a hotel that was nice, clean, comfortable and pet friendly. The staff was very nice, the location was perfect and in walking distance of the main attractions. We picked a room with the canal view...which was awesome. The room was spacious, clean with a very nice bathroom. Our friends decided to get a different room with a view of the Chicago L train tracks and an apartment building, which was still nice and you barely heard the train. The parking is $45.00 A DAY!!! but we got lucky because the first day they parked our vehicle outside in the front of the hotel so they didn't charge us for that day.
