Europa Hotel Sliema Guest Reviews
The room was tiled (a bit cold in Winter) with a window onto an internal light well. I never got the TV to work without a remote (the desk said "just use the buttons") but since I was not in Malta to look at TV, I gave up. Internet worked fine. Bathroom was basic but everything worked. As far as I was concerned I got a VERY good price (it was January) for a roomy room which had all the basics I wanted. Situation on the seashore at Sliema (it's not a beach) is excellent. Valetta (about 25 min away by quite cheap bus) is probably more convenient for the tourist but costs more. From airport catch taxi but buy the special flat-rate ticket at the taxi office. It's a good deal!

The shower did not work and it was very dirty and mouldy. There was blown light globes, the heater did not work, the beds were awful. The sinks plugs were broken, the towel rails were broken and teh chairs were broken. When we complained we were moved to different rooms which were slightly better but still very dirty and the showers still did not work. All in all a very run down and unkept hotel. I would not recommend it to anyone.

WARNING! This hotel are among the top 5 worst I ever stayed at! Probably the worst I ever stayed at within Europe. And I have been visiting quite a few. Bed was broken, room was filthy (old soaps in the shower etc) and damp, breakfast was uneatable. Though cheap, I would never recommend this hotel. After on night (which I barely slept) I changed to a new hotel.
