Euro Hotel Clapham London
2.2 out of 5

We were very disappointed with this hotel, and in fact moved to another hotel after two nights of our five night stay. The balcony doors did not lock (or even stay shut for that matter), the room was dirty and in a very poor state of repair. The bathroom was worse than the room itself. We can handle a small room, but not a dirty one, nor one in an unacceptable state of repair. I would not return to this hotel.

This is, without doubt, the worst hotel I have stayed in since I was in Eastern Europe during the Communist period. Dirty rooms, surly staff, no change of linen or bed making over a 3 day stay, a shower with all the force of a light drizzle and the most narrow, uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in all add up to make this a stay I'm unlikely to forget for a long time. Even if you are on a tight budget, there must be better places to stay than this.

1.The sheets on the bed had huge holes in them. 2.The shower was moldy and scruffy. 3.The toilet seat was wobbly. 4.The carpet had lots of dodgy patches. 5.The complementary hairdryer didn't work. 6.The cot we asked for wasn't in the room and they were unable to provide one on arrival. 7.However, the rooms were secure and I didn't feel like we were going to be broken into when we went out. 8.The bed was also comfortable. Not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, but the decoration and cleaning could use some serious work.

Room should be vacumed every other day. Bathroom should be cleaned daily and towels should be cleaned daily. Should consider weekly or monthly rate. Breakfast should have more choice, not just toast and cereal.

I read a lot of bad thing about this hotel, but it was actually not that bad! The bathroom was very very small but it was clean. The room was ok and the staff friendly. Only the breakfast could be better: only toast and cereals. No yoghurt or fruits...

The towels were filthy although the bedding was clean. The reception staff were helpful. It was basic and cheap. Very handy for the tube.

The hotel was far from clean, holes in towels, dirty small bathroom with bloody band-aids, the floors had food left on them as well. The bathroom was very small with low pressure which made it difficult to feel clean. The shower was also about the size of a large sink to stand in. Great location for a traveler who needs to be close to the tube but that's about it. It would have been worth it to pay much more money in order to have a clean place to stay.

If you consider the hotel and room as providing a bed for a sleep and a base for exploring London it is great. If you are looking for the hotel to provide facilities, then pay more and go elsewhere. Breakfast is included and very basic.

This hotel is in an excellent location for getting in and out of central London. It is extremely well priced and was much better than I expected in terms of comfort and cleanliness. Potential patrons should bear in mind that if you want luxury you've got to pay for it and this is budget accommodation. If you need a comfy bed and a great location look no further.
