Essex has been one of the best hotels ive stayed in in Miami!!! Staff was friendly, rooms were kept clean! Def plan on staying there next year.

The Essex House hotel was decent but the service was just WONDERFUL. It's the perfect location for shopping, dining and if you're the partying type it's in a great spot for that as well. The room service was very nice and got our food to our room in a timely fashion. The bar (like most of the other hotels there) had free beer and wine for happy hour and the bar staff was phenomenal. No need to rent scooters, bikes or take cabs because you'll be pretty much in the middle of all of the action. We'd stay there again no questions asked.

Excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Every concern was addressed immediately. The room itself was rather small, but very tidy. Great location, close to the beach, bars and clubs. The only one negative thing is lack of parking places nearby hotel. Most of the streets are reserved for other hotels, so it's hard to find a good place to park your car in the evening. However, I do believe it's rather matter of place itself (crowded Miami beach) rather than hotel's fault.

Average facilities but can't beat location. Hotel needs to provide more details on parking facilities. Next door parking won't process hotel parking after hours. But I only paid half day parking first day so I saved. Continental breakfast very average. No dining facilities at hotel, but lots of dining options just outside the door, most open quite late. Easy access from MIA airport. Straight down the highway, over the causeway, left turn on Collins, up 5 blocks and you're there. Major complaint was WiFi access. For business travelers like myself, WiFi is an essential. Theirs was 802.11b rather than g. And 99% of the time, I couldn't get a connection, which made the business part of the trip difficult to manage. Even if I were just a leisure traveler, I like to carry my laptop with me so I can research the area, checkin for flight, etc. Would recommend to friend but only with caveats.
